War Child
I haven't been around the corner for a while...been too busy. Looks like I gotta lot to read
Anyway, I was driving out to Ohio and back this weekend for a graduation, and was listening to the radio a lot. I tend to listen to odd things when I drive (religious channels, country...and a lot of NPR [I love NPR...) and I got thinking about trying to write a story telling song. So I was noodling on my guitar, and came up with this bruce springsteenish thingy...and the chorus just appeared out of my mouth...well, I've never written a song so blatenly story tellingish...so I'm not sure what to think...anyway...here it is.
Falling Down On Me
'Cross Indiana to the bluffs of Illinois
A strange place to meet late in the day
We shared a quick smoke and small talk I think
Then I left and we thought that would be all
Now you're falling down on me
Now you're falling down on me
I'm falling on you, and you're falling on me
I'm falling on you, and you're falling on me
Alone with the stars our story was told
Memories we found lost in our souls
Late in the night we said our goodbyes
Then you left and I thought that would be all
Now you're falling down on me
Now you're falling down on me
I'm falling on you, and you're falling on me
I'm falling on you, and you're falling on me
The miles they pass on by
While over the mountains I drive
Wandering around for something I need
I'm falling down, falling for you
Now it's just pictures stuck in my head
The Tappan Zee bridge and the mighty sunset
Restless from waiting I couldn't stay still
So I got up and left and thought that would be all
Now you're falling down on me
Now you're falling down on me
I'm falling on you, and you're falling on me
I'm falling on you, and you're falling on me
