What is it: Nifty crossover-utility vehicle (CUV) from ford.

Tell me more: Sales of CUVs should surpass those of traditional, truck-based SUVs this year. This fast-growing segment -- up 8 percent so far this year -- might become the industry's biggest by 2010. ford hopes the five-passenger edge will become a dominant player. It has an aerodynamic profile, and borrows its bold front-end design from the Fusion sedan. Under the hood is a 265-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 that's paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It comes in front- and all-wheel-drive versions. Side-curtain air bags and ford's traction and stability-control safety systems are standard.

I used to have a quote in my sig from the press release about the new Ford Edge:

But personally, I don't like it that much. I'm more into sportscars. Like Mustangs... (though I think the new Mustangs are hideous, particularly the boxy front end )

I'd like to test drive Edge. Actually the vehicle looks interesting, but too big for me at this time in my life. No SUV at over $2/gal for gas either, I need a more compact fuel economical vehicle to get me around the overly crowded roads of America.

The problem is that what I want is not a Ford Edge but an Edge on my Ford (Mondeo )
