Most folks... Adam included remove them. The Bridge Pickup on the original Telecasters were similar. But again, most people took off the 'ashtray'.

I have them on one of my P-Basses. Its dead silent when not playing. Unfortunately the pickup cover is right where most people like to attack the strings lol. This is a better option for an Adam Sig Bass: Warwick Reverso Clayton Signature in Gold
