Welcome to the fourth heat of the fourth round of the Interference Desert Island Game III! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

PlaTheGreat had a resounding victory in the second heat, defeating Bonos_Lemon, 18-3. Current standings will be displayed in the final heat of the fourth round.

KhanadaRhodes and LemonMacPhisto go up against each other in this heat. Below are the tracklistings.

If you don't know the songs, or wish to hear how each tracklisting flows, leave your e-mail address and we'll help you out. :)

KhanadaRhodes' 100% Natural Good Time Desert Island Solution

This playlist may be a little short, but I think this is pretty much me and the music I love. There's lots of Enz/Finn-related material here, the prerequisite Duran Duran song, and lots of dance music I love. Following the guidelines presented, this would definitely be the music I could not live without if I were on a desert island. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Since this competition is more artistically slanted, I changed my approach to making this playlist. This playlist is structured to work as an entire body of work, two halves, or four mini-lists (or Acts. if you will), all with openers and closers, unique moods, flow, and whatever kicks ass. It was hard this time around sacrificing somewhat superior songs for other mood-enhancing, still great tracks. That being said, here’s the deal on everything. I really wanted to create a cinematic experience with this list, which feature songs from some of my favorite movies. I was also inspired greatly by Pink Floyd’s epic “Dark Side of the Moon” in how to create a list of songs that can work as an album and by themselves and also by Passengers, and how the music acts to scores for fictional films. As the list develops, the tone may change from song to song or fade into each other as one moving piece. The format is like an iPod format, but it’s structured like a mixtape, I just didn’t want to deal with the time constraints. They’re a bitch.

The transitions between the songs are important here, both musically and lyrically. Lyrical bits in some tracks might be mentioned again in another, if you listen for it you’ll catch it (“Sunken Treasure” to “Nobody Home” is a good example.) Ah, I shouldn’t have to explain all this, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about when you listen to all of this. I hope you all enjoy my playlist and especially everyone else’s, and from me, LMP, to you, I just want to thank you for listening to me and letting me be a part of your life today. Because you’ve got a good life! …You got a good life! Sorry, I couldn’t resist the Prison Mike ref, have fun listening!

Competition master list.

Have fun!

Forgot to mention earlier, but Khan's title is the best in the whole tourney.

if she comes back to tie/beat me by one, i shall be a little irked, Screwtape.

That Jackie Wilson song is one of my favorites! Ghostbusters 2, Death to Smoochy... :combust:

I nearly put it on my list as well.

There are things I like on both of these lists, and other parts not as much.

I'd like to see Khanada get a point out of this, though, so I'm going to give her my vote this time.

That was close. I would never have guessed this match would be this close but I'm glad Khan gets a point.

Yes, I wish her list was longer. :(

I know. It's like seeing a great concert but not getting an encore. I really wish we had that encore because the playlist is so good.
wow, thanks for the compliment! :D i'm glad you liked it. i've been working on my next playlist on and off since before this one started so hopefully i'll be able to find stuff to add on to make it longer. but with the extra time i'm giving myself, i won't have to add stuff for the sake of making it longer.
