Have you tried Discipline? That tends to be a well liked album by most people, whereas most of the other albums aside from those two are more accquired tastes.

Very Talking Heads inspired, this was the first album with Adrian Belew on guitar and vocals. There's five almost poppy songs (despite being quite complex) before the two longish instrumental songs at the end of the album.

Yeah, it is God on bass. He was with this lineup, then the Double Trio lineup and now the current lineup (who's playing some shows with Gavin Harrison as a second drummer this year)

Most of the songs sound exactly the same too. Strange chord variations played arpeggio with him wailing (some call it falsetto) over them for four minutes, and then drums and bass come in in the final minute.
