When U2 played the SECC in August apparently Bono sung a bit from Up On The Catwalk by Simple Minds. Was any body there?

I think the covers record IS the new album. I haven't heard about an album containing new material.

Jim Kerr confirmed in a radio interview a few weeks ago that a new album will be out next year. And a world tour probably starting in March next year.
