I posted about this in the Enoguh Rope/November thread, I didn't think anybody payed attention

The interview's on at 4:05pm NZ time, which is about 1 hour 20 minutes from now, if my calculations are correct (I suck at maths)

I saw it MacHat.

What is it about NZ naming it's FM radio stations after celebrities... The Rock, The Edge? :hmm:

For me if it's not on ZB or RadioSport I don't want to know about it!

:D Haha true, crazy radio station names

They keep playing a clip of the interview on The Rock, it's Bono basically saying thanks heaps to everyone for their patience.

I missed it, sorry. :reject:

There doesn't appear to be audio streaming on their site? :( At least we've got someone with their ear to the radio over there :D

I made a note of the website (thanks), but didn't have time to join up until now. Listening to 'Elevation'

I didn't bother to check the timezones, so no clue if/when it will start. I know you said between 3-7PM

The ROCK!

they just said Bono would be on about 4:05 NZ time, whenever that is here (off to check the timezone clock). So I think that's in an hour from now. Too bad the website is constantly BUFFERING :madspit:

No worries evieangelique :D, I'll be grocery shopping when the interview's on :madspit:, but I'll have my portable radio on and I'll be straight onto the computer when I get home

It's just under an hour the interview will be on :hyper:.

then return to the site - login and then click listen online

It will be just another paid advertisement for the Bono "No Debt" Party.

Vote 1 now.

NZ gives 0.028% of the GDP to African Aid, Bono wants it at 0.07%. If it gets to 0.05% by 2010, he will be happy.

He will say something like New Zealand can lead the way for countries like Australia. He makes it sound like a big competition.

Is a promoter going to be involved? I can't see Bono being the one to rattle off specific dates(at least concerning all the postponed shows). Seems like someone else's gig.

well, it *should* be a competition and a priority for wealthy nations of the world. Debt relief is Bono's passion, so he tends to talk about it...no surprise there. One of the reasons he's succeeded in persuading governments to forgive millions of foreign debt is because he's persuasive and he's repeating the message to anyone who will listen. i don't know about you, but he's certainly done more than i have in the last 24 hours to relieve suffering in the third world.

Bono likes to do one interview in every country that he goes to. Mainly to sell his idea of “No Debt, More money for Africa” and a few funny voices. But Bono only does it if he sees the questions before hand and has control of the interview at all times.

After the Denton interview, it was Bono’s expectation that there would be a few cuts made in reference to his comments about some of the US senators but We ran the whole thing anyway. Nothing Bono said was too bad but Bono categorically does not want to be seen to be slagging anyone in the world off cause he thinks that will get his work offisde with certain political groups.

those are australia's figures you are stating, no?

and the figures are .28, .5 and .7 ; you have too many zeroes in there.

But Coppel is supposedly announcing all the dates at the same time so Bono can say the dates, he can at least remember the two NZ dates.

And these would be bad things...why? I think people forget that Enough Rope was an interview with Bono, not an interview with U2.

do you think this is a revelation?

I'm so disturbed that I actually kind of like this song:reject:

of course it could be that it sound a little like they borrowed a little from U2 - possibly a bit of ISHFWILF
