staff who report that Bono is in Venice, not in
New York City as reported by the BBC News24
service.

A friend of U2star.com staff actually saw Bono
today in Venice and told him about the terrorist
attacks in the United States. Bono expressed his
condolences to the American people.

Bono is in Italy working on the "Gangs of New York"
soundtrack.

Everyone can breathe again.

Thank God he is safe.I have been out of my mind with worry.I felt sick and was crying a bit at the thought of anything happening to him.I have also been praying alot.I am just so glad he wasn't there.

I only smile because Bono is safe however it is still a great tragedy.

Thank God, what a relief! Still, it's a tragedy, many people dead.

I would be interested to hear what Bono thinks, he loved NY, I wonder if he has seen the pictures on TV. I want to hear his comments. I know he cares.

But keep in mind and heart the ppl who were there. They had footage of ppl literally jumping out of the windows of the WTC. Nobody can contact their loved ones and they can't really get everyone out because there's still so much smoke.

It's 6:11 pm right now. I'm not close enough to see the pentagon (I'd be freaked out even more than I already am!), but I'm close enough to dc to hear the sirens of rescue workers still being called in, and there's helicopters flying by constantly. It's pretty creepy.

Like I said in other posts, we're not close enough to physically see anything, but we're close enough where a lot of ppl's (at school, friends, neighbors, etc.) relatives work down in D.C. somewhere.

Also the plane that crashed in PA was aiming for Camp David for some reason. I don't think anyone was there, but I think it was all supposed to be symbolic. *sick sick*

From what i understand everyone around the pentagon is safe, but the ppl inside the exact area obviously aren't.

There was something about a car bomb near the state building, but they never confirmed that.

P.S. Perhaps the only funny part about this is that when GW Bush was travelling the ppl on the news were all 'Bush's plane is the only one allowed in the sky right now. WE REPEAT the plane you see is President Bush's" anyone could've taken a pot shot at it! I dunno. That's just sickeningly funny.

wow. i didn't realize there was a rumour that bono was in wtc. here is how my morning went:
1. heard about wtc and pentagon
2. was upset
3. realized she didn't personally know anyone that could have been there
4. calmed down
5. remembered U2 had been NYC
6. started freaking out and became convinced bono was in intimate danger
7. went online in the library at school, went to interference, and upon seeing no "bono is dead" threads felt better
8. went home and watched footage
9. feels sad again

seriously, though, i worried about the band. mostly bono. we know how that boy is, he could have been there. thank god he's okay. i hope all your friends and family are, too.
