One of my favorite things about U2 is how they rearrange songs on tours, especially since the Zoo TV era.
My current favorites.

1) Discotheque (vertigo tour)
2) All I Want is You (Elevation tour)
3) The Fly (Elevation)
4) Running To Stand Still (Zoo TV)
5) Elevation (Vertigo tour)

what do y'all think?

you're definitely missing Bullet-the-fucking-Blue-Sky (Zoo TV) but yeah, Vertigo Discotheque is KILLIN EM, they better bring that fucker back, best version EVER.

I actually think I love Vertigo tour's The Fly even more than Elevation's...

1) The Fly (Vertigo Tour)

4) Running to Stand Still (ZooTV Tour)
5) Where the Streets Have No Name (PopMart Tour)

I love how 'Yahweh' is being done on this tour
Bullet The Blue Sky from the ZooTV tour is motherfuckingawesome too.

Hmm....this tour's Elevation is pretty hot. Nothing beats the 2001 version of The Fly, tho. STUNNING.

Also, I think the Vertigo version of Running was pretty great...Edge's piano part, at least as it was on the Twickenham broadcast, is sweet.

oh my god..how the fuck did i forget bullet from Zoo TV.
an embarrasing slip on my part.

until the end of the world (elevation)
the electric co. (vertigo)
the unforgettable fire (joshua tree tour)

i also think their new incarnation of stuck in a moment is far better than any time it was played on elevation (on that tour i thought it was kind of boring, though i did see elevation 10 times, so it it sort of my fault)

Bullet The Blue Sky (ZooTV)
Running To Stand Still (ZooTV)
All Along The Watchtower (Lovetown)

-Mofo
-Walk On (Vertigo tour)
-Wake Up Dead Man (Acoustic)

The Fly:rockon:
Discotheque:dance:

*please play discotheque again, I loved it so much in Chicago*

WOWY and One with the extra verses, and really people what were you thinking, none of you mentioned a small unknown little number called BAD.

good point - anyone else love the version of bad from the popmart tour. holy schnikeys:drool:

I dunno... Bad is just as powerful on the record, to me. The "wide awake"s are chilling... and to be honest I don't think the snippets add all that much (ok, I'll give on Sympathy for the Devil, that's great).

Oh, and give me Mark Chapman Bullet over the ZooTV one anyday.

Running to stand still/Bullet the blue sky, Zoo TV
Sunday bloody sunday/Where the streets have no name, Popmart
Desire/All I want is you, Elevation
The fly/Who's gonna ride your wild horses, Vertigo

1 Where The Streets Have no Name (Popmart)

2 With or Without You (Josua Tree tour/Lovetown)

3 Stay (Zoo Tv)

4 Bullet The Blue Sky (Zoo Tv)

5 Last Night on Earth (Popmart)

6 Love Peace or Else (Vertigo)

-Mofo
-Bullet the Blue Sky (ZooTv)
-Electric Co. (Vertigo)
-Love and Peace
-Bad (Elevation)
-Discotheque (Vertigo)
-The Fly (Vertigo)

Mysterious Ways live has always been far better than the record, with the chill beginning (and the sampled pianos during ZooTV during the initial "it's alright"s). Plus they turn it into a bit of a jam with Edge's solos and whatnot.

Also, Please - POPMart -- unbelievable.

- Mofo
- Discotheque (popmart/vertigo)
- Zoo Station (vertigo)
- The Fly (elevation/vertigo)
- Dirty Day
- Mysterious Ways (every tour)
- Miami
- Exit
- Bullet The Blue Sky (zoo tv/elevation/vertigo 2nd leg)
- RTSS (zoo tv)
- Daddy's Gonna Pay
- UTEOTW
- Desire (zoo tv mirrorball man version)
- Gone (elevation)
- Electric Co. (vertigo)
- An Cat Dubh (vertigo)
- All Along The Watchtower (lovetown)
- Bad, WTSHNN bla bla bla...

These are from the top of my head, in no patricular order. But really we should chose songs which DIDN'T improve on tour... would be so much easier!

Bullet the Blue Sky (Elevation Boston)
Bad (Rattle and Hum)
With or Without You (Rattle and Hum) - Best version ever
Sunday Bloody Sunday (Rattle and Hum) - So, so good
Running to Stand Still (Rattle and Hum)

why would we want to do that?

Cause imo there are only 4-5 songs at most that didn't improve live. So I think it's pretty easier to type these than mention almost whole catalogue of great live songs no?

Yes, my thoughts exactly! I never listen to the studio versions of those two songs anymore, only live.
I also find myself only listening to the Elevation versions of Beautiful Day (with the goal is soul ) and New York. Also, has no one mentioned the Lovetown version of One Tree Hill!??
