nevertheless, it existed in the 70's for mere weeks,

YOU ARE A GOD! Chartered Trips is one of the greatest rock songs ever written, after maybe Three Days by Jane's Addiction.

Glad somebody picked that up. I would also put Grant Hart's "Intolerance" in a list of favourite 80's albums.

oh god yes! Fucking fantastic album, can't get enough of Chartered Trips and Something I Learned Today. Really took me by surprise when I got this album and that was only a year ago!

now here's my other two choices since The Joshua Tree sort of goes without saying and I don't want to list too much electro-pop so I'll keep this short and sweet.

Fleetwood Mac's Tango in the night

and even though I don't care much for them, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince and George Michael were a lot better then whatever was popular in the 90s

I ALMOST agree but I'm still very torn between the two. Isn't Anything, at first, took months for me to get into, then after a while I just listened to it again and for some reason it all sounded fantastic after I listened to it in little chunks one by one, getting into certain parts of the record then later on 'discovering' another part!

Weirdest way I've ever got into an album but after hearing Loveless first it makes Isn't Anything sound much more accesible, but Loveless is still an incredible record! As I said, I'm torn between the two but god DAMN the 'You Made Me Realise' and 'Feed Me With Your Kiss' EPs can't be beat!

On the subject of Husker Du, hell yes! I've left it a while so I don't completely exhaust their back catalogue like I would with some bands when I was younger. Which would you reccomend??

A great decade. Far ahead of the 90's and 00's.

Joshua Tree. I love tons of music from the decade, but this is the biggest no-brainer for me. I adore this album above all other albums. The things and times this album has helped me through are too legion to count.
