i just realized i saw coldplay live, in like 2000. at a radio station concert with a bunch of bands. also aerosmith and manson were there but we skipped them to go to the "rave tent" and see fatboy slim live.

the guy i went with is now extremely fat. and has a kid.

Now I'm just waiting for one of you to say "hey, I really liked that Creed album". :tsk:

Hated Creed from the beginning, so don't worry.

Unfortunately, I was a Linkin Park fan for like a year. :(

It should be a crime punishable by death to like Linkin Park for any amount of time.

I'd say something here but I've disowned 14 year old Axver so it doesn't count.

14 was sort of a musical development year for me. I mean, I got into a lot of shit music, but it was a logical step to go from Linkin Park in 2002 to Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Placebo, Vast, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, A Perfect Circle and Nine Inch Nails in 2003. Still mostly shit phase, but at least I managed to get out of it, unlike most people I know my age that still listen to LP and that sort of tosh.

PS I was listening to U2 both years.

for the record i never liked linkin park. i can't even name a song by them.

i did like lifehouse. and vertical horizons. i still kinda like both of them.

oh and Lit I fucking loved Lit.

Way to take responsibilty

I've had good music taste all my life, except for a brief spell around 14-15 where things went at least somewhat to shit. But then I heard Gone and woke the fuck up.

you know, every time you get a superior attitude about your tastes in anything, i think i'm going to respond with "but at least i was never a krazy kristian"

I originally HATED Linkin Park. I can't remember their first hit, I think it was that "I'm closer to the edge" song, but whatever it was, I thought it was stupid noise.

I will give them one thing, in that they kept some interest in heavy music there and contributed in some way to setting me up for getting into heavy music that's actually GOOD, e.g. Agalloch, Orphaned Land, Cynic, Sculptured, Russian Circles, Wolves In The Throne Room, etc.

My musical taste was in a fucky order because when I was a kid my brother made me listen to the Pixies and Husker Du and even some Velvet Underground. So how I managed to get into Linkin Park after that is fucking ridiculous.

I don't care much for the Pixies anymore (despite screenname), but Husker Du to me are like Porcupine Tree to Axxo.
