BEAUTIFUL NIGHT!

U2 invited a handful of fans into their inner sanctum last night (November 17) – and bade an emotional farewell to their DUBLIN headquarters in the process.

The band played an intimate gig for 30 Radio 1 competition winners at their soon-to-be-demolished rehearsal space at the city’s Hanover Quays (November 16).

Having co-hosted Jo Whiley’s late morning show from the site, they played an exclusive five-song set at the end of Zane Lowe’s evening show at 8.30.

After a reception, the winners were escorted over to the studio where the band immediately ploughed into UK Number One single ‘Vertigo’.

They then played album tracks ‘All Because Of You’, ‘Miracle Drug’ and ‘Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own’ before a rousing finale of ‘Beautiful Day’.

The show held special resonance for the band, since their Hanover Quays is soon to be demolished.

U2 release ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’ on November 22.

As an exclusive treat to NME.COM readers, you'll be among the first people to hear the new U2 album, 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb'.

If you've read the glowing review in the NME (9 out of 10 by Dan Martin), you'll want to have a listen for yourself.
