Baby Bono's Day Out
Pictures have just been released of Bono, a baby pygmy hippo, stepping out into the sun with his mother at Indonesian Safari Park in Cisarua, West Java, Indonesia.
Of the zoo's new arrival, the Associated Press writes:
Bono, a 17-day-old pygmy hippopotamus (Hexaprotodon liberiensis) stands near his 10-year-old mother Tina at Indonesian Safari Park in Cisarua, West Java, Indonesia, Friday, July 29, 2005. The western-African mammals are extremely rare in the wild with probably no more than a few thousand animals remaining, but are known to breed well in zoos.
Interference.com hasn't been able to determine if the little hippo was named after the Bono but will keep you posted.
