Bono & Bertie Launch Report...
The eyes of the world have been on Ireland over the past weeks with the Special Olympics, the Global Youth Summit, and today the launch of the Human Development Report 2003. U2 frontman Bono and Irish Taoiseach Bertie Ahern got together today to launch the Human Development Report 2003.
It is part of an unprecedented dual launch, the second leg taking place in Maputo, Mozambique on Thursday as part of the African Union summit.

The reason for the Report is to aid poorer countries who are languishing in poverty; without access to clean water, lack of food, beset by HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, lacking in schools and adequate healthcare, and degrading environments.

The report stated that over 1 billion people worldwide are living in such conditions. It is the mission of the collective to outline a development programme to tackle global poverty and to achieve their goals by 2015.
