    How are the tickets selling?

Good post. As I figured.. the tickets will sell and every city will sell out, no matter what the naysayers here hope.

The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 Boxscore Discussion

Yes, that's ALL it is.. I'm sure that 5 months away they are worried about playing to empty seats in San Jose  When you're done licking Garth Brooks ***** you might try and consider that U2 are charging exactly what those seats are worth. A U2 show is far and away better...

Garth Brooks goal: to overtake the marks set by U2 360 tour

First off, Garth Brooks was trying to break U2's records, which is exactly why he set ticket prices so low. Second, he wasn't able to complete his crusade because people are starting to realize country music just, well, SUCKS. That's exactly why country acts like Taylor Swift have crossed...

SOE 34: If there is a leak, don't let it go unheard

Music finally fits the album name After first few listens this is a really solid effort by the boys, like they finally just let their hair down. Reviews are going to be all over the place because the album is so.. different...honestly, I can't think of anything out there like it. But, to me...

Songs of Experience - Part 3

For the umpteenth time, the Apple event was NOT a problem, it was, in fact, the most publicity U2 had for an album release since the iPod ads. A few idiot Apple nerds complained for no real reason and it made huge news...and any publicity is good publicity when you're in the music business -...

U2 iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour Boxscore Discussion

I don't have a problem at all with the ticket sales for this leg of the tour considering the utter lack of promotion that occurred here in the U.S. before the tour. The problem is NOT with the Apple iTunes launch - the sheer number of album downloads and listens tell me it was a massive...

Vancouver #1 setlist party (part 2)

For those of you that were watching the periscope feed "sideways" on your Windows PC, you can correct that by right-clicking on your desktop, left-clicking "Screen Resolution" and clicking "Portrait" in the "orientation" section.

2015 U2 Tour - General Discussion Thread IV

I'm unfortunately used to the absolute depressing vibe of this site.. the "this latest album [insert album name here] sucks and the corresponding "post-mortem" threads and it really irritates me to the point that I rarely post here anymore. That said, IMO, since U2 hit the reset button with...

What will the stage look like?

They would not simply copy a low talent band like the NIN..it's not the way U2 rolls. Instead expect some sort of shape-transforming screen with a new technology never-before seen in a live concert setting. The NIN screen was actually more like U2's 'curtain of lights v2.0' than anything else...

    Rate the Song: Invisible

I really like this song.. I gave it an 8. The intro is fantastic to hear from the persepective of a U2 fan looking for a possibly different sound from this upcoming album.

Invisible - Reactions Thread (Do not post song requests - Discussion only!)

I did not like the ad much, but I really love this song! It sounds very modern, much like Beautiful Day did when it first came out. The first 30 seconds of the edited song are particularly exciting to hear.. I hope there's a longer version available later on.

How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb 9 years on

Vertigo, COBL, Miracle drug, OOTS, Crumbs - all good songs. Even the weaker songs are at least solid. Bomb was way better than ATYCLB, which was barely half an album. I prefer NLOTH to both, even though I only play the first 4 and last 4 songs of it.

    Ordinary Love

I did not dislike OL so much as it lives up to the first word in its name - Ordinary. This song is about as generic as you can get for a contemporary U2 sound. If this is representative of what U2 are planning for their next album, then they might as well scrap it and release these songs as a...

Someday U2 will have a new album. Today is not that day. discuss.

ATYCLB was important because it moved U2 in another direction for the new millenium, and that really cannot be overstated...however it was more of a "half-album" because the back half seemed like an afterthought. Bomb, however, was a more complete album beginning to end. It just felt like they...

    Happy 20th birthday, Zooropa!

Like all great U2 albums (and it is), Zooropa really kinda grows on you with time. AB was also that way with me. Zooropa is definately now in my top 5 U2 albums. In the early 90's I was an Alternative radio DJ in college and many people thought U2 was too "mainstream" to play there.. but a...

    A U2 box-set, disc-arranged by themes

    U2 on your radio

One time I heard Magnificent playing when I was at Staples on their Muzak speakers. U2 is rarely played on any of the radio stations up here. Vertigo gets a play here and there on the top 40 station.. BD, WOWY on the soft rock station occasionally.. maybe NYD on the classic rock station...

Google Chrome OS on its way

I'm all for this. Hopefully, this morphs into a general purpose FREE operating system for use in all PCs, not just netbooks. I fully understand the challenge of drivers, but Linux has been able to handle most hardware and I suspect Chrome could as well. From everything I have read, Chrome OS...

what should have been the 1st single?

GOYB was a disaster as a first single. IMO, neither GOYB nor SUC should have even been included on this album. Crazy stays only because of the live version of the remix - the album version is just blah. That said, seeing as the first single was going to be played to kick off the Grammy's, I'd...

    Week 36

To say that VLV "would have done far better" than NLOTH is without merit. I don't think VLV would have done much better than NLOTH had it been released in March 2009. The economy world wide is down and there was no Christmas boost for NLOTH like there was for VLV. The #1 album of 2009 is...

    Global tours - stadiums only

Right now, in this economy, I agree that no one would be the best bet. My best guess as to who would be able to pull it off in the near future would be Green Day. They are known internationally and well known in the USA and seem to play well to large crowds. In 2009 they've played in arenas...

Rose Bowl Show to be filmed for DVD + Webcast

Yeah, Bono's voice wasn't 100% up to par, but I really do think the DVD will sound a LOT better than the YouTube stream did last night. There was something just wrong with the mix that was sent out. I can't put my finger on exactly what the problem was though, other than the crowd sound was...

    Rose Bowl DVD setlist predictions

Sure, they could add in Bad or YBR, but it will probably be the same setlist they did in Phoenix, which is fine with me. I was worried that UC was going to be dropped for good, but since they've included it lately I believe it will be there for the DVD. Also, after seeing that amazing short...
