My GA experience. The list is tainted.

Nope, same basic system applies in South America, too, where all this lining up for days in advance started. Fans line up in groups and take shifts manning the line, meaning everyone is gone for 2/3s of the time. I loved it.

You need to start a commune in montana or somewhere.

Yeah, why did they drop it so early in the tour? Then, opening with Vertigo at every European show? Big mistake, I think.

I forgot how good LAPOE was opening for some of the early Vertigo Tour shows. Totally off-beat, ominous start, with the darkened room and the searchlights and the jets flying overhead and the "Ooooh Oooooh Oooooohhhhh" intro, ending with Edge's awesome solo, fucking great. Can't find a...

July 30, 2011 - Magnetic Hill, Moncton, NB II: Camping Out For U2 ... For Real!

U2 fans in the 80's weren't the well-behaved, genteel crowds that exist now. We were all rowdy teenagers, 70% guys, and U2 was the coolest band on the planet. Opening bands for U2 were regularly bottled off. Being in the front few rows was hazardous because of all the flying debris. REM...

My favorite was Streets opening the Joshua Tree tour. Made me cry the first time I saw it. No lights, no fancy stage, no crazy outfits, just four guys on a platform rockin' the Irish kids at Croke Park: ‪U2 Where The Streets Have No Name 1987 World In Action documentary‬‏ - YouTube

Yeah, Canadians are the friendliest, coolest cats on the planet, you won't have any problem finding people to help assemble your wigwam. Have a great time everyone, wish I could be there!

True, friends who were there said Bono was really struggling during the recent superhot New Jersey show.

July 23, 2011 TCF Stadium Minneapolis III: Stuck In A Heat Wave You Can't Get Out Of

My last gigs were Anaheim, but I wish I could be there with you guys, I'm so jealous! Minneapolis got "Crumbs" on Vertigo, so I'm hoping you get something equally rare tomorrow night

Inside scoop: U2 were only planning on playing "one, maybe two songs" after MOS, so it was a choice of the three, not all of them.

Screw you guys, Snow Patrol were good. I hated them the first seven times I saw them, though, but gradually grew to enjoy their sets. Kind of like the unattractive person constantly hitting on you, until finally you just give in and throw them a shag. Some guys in the front row in Moscow...

Totally. Muse don't sound great on their CDs for some reason, crappy producers, I guess. Live Muse is far better My tinny videos don't do them justice, but.... Opening for U2 in Sao Paulo last April (with riffs from AC/DC and "The Fly" at the end): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLnNj5gacE8
