Weather Network has Saturday listed as light rain (5mm). Not too bad

Leaving in 2 hours 18 minutes

Environment Canada forecasts are often very wrong at home. Plus, if you look at the high pressure systems leading into the concert and immediately following, that middle rain period doesn't compute! :nerd:

Safe trip, Jive Turkey.

Just got back from the Arcade Fire show. Damn they are awesome! I still can't believe they're opening for U2 - they are going to have that place going nuts. Weather down here was beautiful too - 60's with a slight breeze

Back up to Moncton tomorrow!

Here in P.E.I. and just watched the forecast. CBC weather guy said that he is expecting the showers to move through before the show. Let's hope he is right!

Okay lovahs. I'm off to sleepy time (yeah, right). Looking forward to see y'all tomorrow at the pumphouse. That sounded pervy.

I'm sad that when I return this thread won't be needed. Thanks to everyone for the laughs and the info. You guys rock so hard, you moved the Earth off its axis. See you Moncton bitches!

A full water bottle with a cap on it becomes a weapon when thrown at the band or anyone else, without the cap the water will flow out and may not cause as much harm.

I thought that was their reasoning, but I can throw my fists, my shoes, or my heavy old point and shoot camera at the band or someone else. I think it's so carrying it will be so inconvenient that you won't bother and then buy some from them.

I read on the Moncton show Facebook page just now that 1L bottles HAVE to be sealed on entry. I guess I won't be bringing in that Litre of kerosene to light myself on fire now or that 180 proof vodka!

Woot!! Whoda thunk I'd actually be able to see U2 twice in one tour. Hope they at least snippet Springhill Mining Disaster. Here's an old Canadian heritage minute, I know his daughter, she used to run a coffee house around here.

I also wonder if Bono knows that the man who helped write the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is from New Brunswick as well. John Peters Humphrey of Hampton.

You clearly didn't have the pleasure of attending festivals in the 90's where people in the back would show their displeasure by hurling full water bottles toward the stage, hitting people standing close to the stage in the back of the head. Not pretty. And it didn't just happen once. And it wasn't just one random fool at the back of the audience. Besides, when you buy a bottle from the concession stand, they don't give you the cap either

That's awful that people would do such a thing. I think if someone wants to inflict harm on someone else though, it won't matter to them. I could rip a piece off my shirt, stuff it in the bottle top and then throw it.

I imagine we'll present our full sealed bottles and they'll take our caps. Of course, I'll bring extra caps so I can keep a bottle of water without spilling it.

Funny that my profile photo is of Bono at Vertigo Montreal 2 looking into his bottle of water. Perhaps he's considering throwing it at a fan....or Edge! lol

I agree, I figure it just got to a point where a lot of people were getting hurt and they didn't want to be liable for giving out the bottles

Hey guys in my motel in Moncton and wanted to let you know that he may have one room available at 125 per night. I'm at The Atlantic Motel just 6kms from Magnetic Hill.

Also, got my number from Vic (after a very long walk into the Zoo) #67!!!!!
Thanks Vic!

Saw the Claw..... Wow. Will really miss it when its gone.

Tick tock

This. Read any review of the Longest Day at Milton Keynes 1985. U2 and five other bands. Bottles got thrown at the stage all day, at all the support bands. Empty bottle. Full bottles. Bottles full of urine. By U2 fans.

U2 fans in the 80's weren't the well-behaved, genteel crowds that exist now.

We were all rowdy teenagers, 70% guys, and U2 was the coolest band on the planet. Opening bands for U2 were regularly bottled off. Being in the front few rows was hazardous because of all the flying debris. REM got creamed at Milton Keynes, causing Michael Stipe to throw a fit and start singing while facing the drumkit. Billy Bragg got hammered with piss bottles.

Fans chucked loads of stuff at The Waterboys when they opened in SF during the Unforgettable Fire Tour in 1984. Mike Scott lost his temper and swore at us, then proceeded to rip through the rest of their set at breakneck speed, prompting our cheers. I remember Bono being pissed at us for acting so beastly towards his mates. U2 concerts were a different scene back then, but I'm glad they make everyone take off the bottle caps nowadays.

Just like Dublin -- Anyone hear A Sort of Homecoming coming on??

After the sun and heat I've endured at five shows this summer I say - BRING IT ON!!!!

Weather Network is saying 1 mm of rain. We'll be sweating more than that! I have a feeling the forecast won't be a factor at all here.

If anyone needs a place to stay, I just canceled my room at the Atlantic Motel. Call the owner Marco and ask him if it's still available. I found a room at the casino - the cancelations are evidently coming in on the regular up there.

At every outdoor concert I've ever been too in the maritimes the only liquid they ever allowed through was a SEALED 1L bottle of water... They never took the caps off and when you buy drinks they always leave the cap on and sealed...
I doubt it'll be any different for this show - the only thing they open is the can of beer...

For those of you with Stadium seating - below is the detailed grandstands map... And also Atlantic Canada Rocks - Atlantic Canadian Concert News, Rumours and Discussion has tonnes of information on the entire event, from Parking to everything lol

For those in GA, the line has started. Venue security is working with us. Wristbands are being given out. To get your number, enter Magnetic Hill park, through covered bridge, follow road past the zoo and water park. Road will wrap around to the left, you'll pass the box office and you'll see the claw on the right. Look for a tent on the right before exiting back onto the road. Must show up in person to get wristband.

omg i never knew The Waterboys opened for U2 - that's a gig i would kill to see! especially in those days when they were getting to their prime! can't imagine Mike Scott being best pleased at the abuse lol! he was shitty to a fan one time i saw them at a festival - this girl was sitting on her bf's shoulders and he walked with her to the front of the stage and she was singing away and really enjoying herself, the atmosphere was awesome, really joyful and happy and then Mike Scott just said really grumpily "i'm trying to play a gig pal!" miserable bastard! lol
