PLEBA Misc News and Articles #5

The Independent is a pretty legit Irish newspaper and I'm sure this would've been fact-checked several times over. Maybe I'm a bit naive about these days of "print anything to sell papers" but I think Barry Egan's arse & job would be on the line if this turned out not to be true.

Freestylin' Friday: Quieter moments - The Edge w/Acoustic gtr.

Just a comment from the cheap seats... I very much enjoy your contribution of Edge eye candy and guitar geekdom. Thanks!

FREESTYLIN' FRIDAY... The Edge and hats

Does anyone know the specific name for the "hat" he's wearing in this photo? I've always loved him in it and was hoping he'd wear it on this tour due to the middle eastern inspiration for the new songs. Hell, Edge could wear a pancake on his head and I'd love it.

    Larry - the fashion expert

Geez, a little tact? I believe the OP only wanted to do a favor by reminding those who have that channel that the program is today. He/she knows it's just a promo ad.

2010 Leg Announcement on u2.com now - TOUR DATES - Part II

Oh for gawd's sake, the people complaining that they didn't get a show in their own backyard and might have to drive an hour away, or that they're not getting a second show...jebus, the entitlement. Those of us in the US "flyover" regions and the Aust/NZ are crying all over the place for you...

    PLEBA name poll

You might consider BEDLA. You'd have the melody section on one end, the rhythm section on the other, and Dallas as the glue in the middle holding it all together. Just a thought.

The Edge and Bono Love Thread #8

My eyewitness at Giants Stadium texted me just a bit ago, saying Bono kissed Edge tonight during "Magnificent." We need visual proof, ASAP. :edge::heart::bono:

Magnificent & Unknown Caller in "Raw" form

I'm not sure I've ever posted in this forum, but I just had to step in and totally agree with Mr BTH's assessment of this song. Just like most of Bono's lyrics, this wasn't written to be cool or as "a message to the young people" ;) Bono, for everything he is, and everything he is not, is a...

Same old Teddy...! (Time and distance has not changed our mutual mindworks). Miss you; glad I still see you pop up around here from time to time.

    hall of fame speech

One small correction; I'm fairly certain Larry says "in Artane, in Dublin."

Bono is quick on the draw

My good friend, a staff writer with u2.se --, gave me this: "What I've been concentrating on lately, isn't the corruption of the politicians, but rather on my own. The politics of the human heart is often very ugly."

FanArt, V2 - what you've all been waiting for...

General Gripweed... I think it was you who was working on a painting of PopEdge in that short sleeved mesh shirt. I was very impressed with what you had finished at that point. Did you ever complete it? I'd love to see it.

    Springsteen Part III

Hi! I'm not an expert on that venue, but I also have tickets for St. Paul in Section 108! I sat in approximately the same spot for U2 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee and I much preferred seeing the entire stage straight on and lower from a little further back. I might be wearing my Music...

    Cannes V2

Holy Crap, Tedster, this is Sunflower! I don't post in here much anymore, but I do lurk, avoid the drama, and enjoy my beloved Irishmen. I would've figured you for an Adam girl. I think he is probably the "Bob Equivalent", LOL. I'll drop you another line in the PR so I don't get yelled at...

Eno / Rubin Comments in March issue of Q Mag

I hardly ever reply to anything in these forums anymore but I just had to pop out of lurkdom to compliment you for a concise, well written, heartfelt summary of U2's approach to creating music. I'm planning on tucking this away for easy access when someone asks me why I love U2 so much...
