    Tracks 1 - 6 HTDAAB v AB

In my book, AB wins 12-0. It's just that good. The one track that AB might be bested on happens to be a weak track on HDAAB as well.

What songs would you sample to demonstrate U2's versatility?

Mofo and I Will Follow, simply because they're about 17 years apart, about the same subject (Bono's mother) and sound so different. Or perhaps Mofo and Streets, two songs that I consider to be both sides of the same coin.

All I Want Is You vs. The Fly

The Fly. Some of the best guitar work ever done.

Reflections after listening to Irving Plaza for the last day or two.

That performance of One/Walk On was some of the best vocal work Bono has done.

    Power of Interference:

    For U2, or any fandom?

    Good evening Interferencers!!

Thank you for stopping by, Edge :). Your work is truly remarkable, and it's a testimony to how good U2 is that everything blends together so well.

Hmm. Those are two very good songs.

    A Message From U2

Great, great stuff. Power and harmony combined beautifully.

VERTIGO: Bringing the ATYCLB bashers back into the fold?

I was always under the impression that "ATYCLB bashers" were those who liked or preferred their '90s work and didn't like the approach they took with ATYCLB. I know I like their '90s work better overall than I do ATYCLB, though I still like the album itself.

Attention! Fan Reaction Article For "Vertigo"

Where's the magic? This is magic. It's remarkably powerful and energetic, and I hope the rest of the album follows suit. Just want to say that I completely agree with this:

I'm really starting to think of Elevation and Vertigo as brothers.

Elevation is slow compared to Vertigo. Vertigo barely has any pause, and goes at warp speed. Elevation has two lengthy pauses in it, and doesn't have the same kind of energy.

Song wars: Beautiful Day vs. Vertigo

For sheer power, Vertigo wins. For overall strength, BD may be the best. I love Vertigo, though, and I think it's just what the band needs. No more lite stuff, and a lot of straight-ahead rock.

Vertigo's spot on the album! Do you know?

I think it'll be the first or second. Now that I think of it, it reminds me a bit of EBTTRT, which of course was 2nd on AB.

who does not care much for, SLANE dvd?

And if we are really dreaming, how about a DVD of the full uncut final Tempe show from Joshua Tree and/or the Dublin 89 New Years show Good points. I'm not sure if WOWY, Bullet and Running were all done on the same night, but if they were (and it would have been the final show if they were)...

    Bono's vocals

I think one of the big "what ifs" of U2 is how Bono would be doing if he hadn't smoked, or had quit while he was young.

who does not care much for, SLANE dvd?

I'd be looking more forward to it if it were the first show and not the second show they were releasing on DVD.

    U2's Saddest Song

For true sadness, I think Running to Stand Still is on its own.

    MERGED ----> Question for newer U2 fans. + I Love Old U2

I started with The Joshua Tree and ATYCLB back in late 2000. I then moved to The Best of 1980s and War, and then to Achtung Baby. I stayed with their 1980s music at first, and I remember thinking their 1990s music was just a bit on the different side. Achtung Baby took me a little while to...

    U2- Best of 90-2000

I'm definitely not much of a fan of the Best of 1990s. Not many of the truly great songs got onto the album.

Electrical Storm a more rockin version of When I Look At The World?

I think WILATW is a very good song, and one of the better ones on ATCYLB. Better than Electrical Storm.

Does U2 pick certain songs for certain track numbers?

Does it seem like U2 picks certain types of songs for certain track numbers? To me, it seems like track 5 almost invariably gets an emotional/ballad-type song. Staring at the Sun is jarringly off-key in that arrangement, but going back through Joshua Tree, you have Running to Stand Still, Wild...
