    Are Stadiums really that bad?

It depends entirely on how good your seats are and how good the acoustics are. I saw a ZooTv show at Foxboro stadium outside of Boston that rates as the worst concert going experience of my life. Most of the time I couldn't tell which song they were playing because I was in an acoustic "dead...

    misprint in NLOTH booklet

I wouldn't put it past Bono. He's not stupid. He knows that there are some songs where the lyrics really matter and others where they just don't. He probably looked at an earlier print out of the liner notes, read the lyrics to SUC and said "fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck this. Make it unreadable. I...

Another album soon?? Songs of Ascent

I remember looking at my cd rack and seeing the following albums stacked on top of each other: Peter Gabriel: UP Ani Difranco: Up Up Up Up Up REM: Up Sort of creepy actually.

U2: Letterman's House Band for a FULL WEEK

Now here's a real putdown of Sting. Googled this. I believe this event happened in 2002. You think Edge took a shot at your hero, Jofo? Prepare to be ENRAGED. A YEAR AGO, as Sting was preparing to perform at a charity party in Cannes, Bono introduced him. "He is one of the most...

U2: Letterman's House Band for a FULL WEEK

Ok. Take a deep breath. In. Then out. Feel better? Sting is the absolute all time captain of snarky remarks about other artists. He can't help it--he's a Brit. Edge was just making a funny. If Gordon saw it he probably snickered, turned to his wife and made a rude comment about Edge's...

    Surprise Surprise! Pitchfork hates NLOTH!

I agree. At least Pitchfork acknowledges what an excellent album How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb is. If only U2 would return to that kind of brilliance.:drool:

    Surprise Surprise! Pitchfork hates NLOTH!

Ha!! This is hilarious. :applaud::applaud::applaud::applaud: Cracks me up. The same Interference members who hate How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb have been on pins and needles waiting for the GREAT Pitchfork to post their review of NLOTH. And they hate it.:wave::wave::wave: I don't...

    Is u2 relevant Today

No. God no. U2 haven't been relevant since 1991. And that's debatable. Great, yes. Best band in the world, yes. Relevant, no. Relevant means that about a half dozen critics think you're special and 14 year old girls (and some boys) masburbate to your poster on their wall. who the hell...

NLOTH Album Reviews - Professional / Web / Mag Reviews ONLY

Don't agree at at. It would be difficult to write a more snarky, meanspirited review. Every critic who loves the album is just sucking up to Bono. Sure. Critics like this should just step in front of a freight train and do us all a favor.

    NLOTH Album Reviews Pt 3

Good points. However, it's possible none of us have come up with a superior track order because U2 picked the best one. I have issues with the middle section as well but all my attempts to make a superior track listing ruined the album.

Is This The Best U2 Album Ever?!

No, they're Bono's. Edge has always assisted with a lyric here or there. Bono read some of the lyrics to a journalist in 1993. Might have been B.P. Fallon.

    NLOTH Album Reviews Pt 3

I love Bono and I love his lyrics but he's always had his less than poetic moments. How about "Face to Face/In a dry and waterless place" in the Unforgettable Fire. Dry AND Waterless? Really?? :applaud: Still one of my favorite U2 songs.

It's like folks are just searching for things to nitpick on NLOTH.

This has been one of their least controversial releases. Pretty much universal critical acclaim. 98% of Interference thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Even the critical reviews have found something positive to say about the album. For a band of U2's stature and, ahem...

    I think U2 stuffed up ........

He shoots you. He shoots you dead. But that's not so bad because he tortures you first until you want to die.

    I think U2 stuffed up ........

More popular with fans but less popular with Interference. We would have savaged it for the cheesy title and its immediacy. There would have been at least 4,954 posts from the haters about a lack of development in sound and U2 taking the path of least resistance. Imagine dozens of variations...

Why so many "ooohhhs" on this album?

Edge was on Interference and he read all the complaints about the last two albums only being collections of songs not tied together thematically. Edge suggested a recurring motif of numbers appearing in each song. Bono's contributions, "I'll just go, "oh-oh whoa" in every song. It sounds great.

    Edge's Solos......

Eh? what the frick are you blabbering about? Hendrix is about one billion times the soloist that Edge is. Having said that I don't thing Edge spend two seconds pondering Hendrix when he soloed on NLOTH. He sounds great. if you like Hendrix go listen to Hendrix. Jeezus.

Is This The Best U2 Album Ever?!

Most negative fan reviews I can remember are from AB and HTDAAB. Some U2 fans literally felt like U2 were telling them to fuck off with AB. It sounds funny now. But it's true.

The 'I don't seem to like the new album' thread

What the fuck are you talking about? The Grammy's suck. Who gives a flying bleep if u2 win or don't win? What does that have to do with anything? You are way too worried about the bs. Get over it. Who won the best album grammy in 2003?? who gives a bleep???
