I agree, Liesje. Sure, there are people who badmouth Bono, but there are a ton of people who badmouth any major rock star. Once you get to a certain level of celebrity it comes with the territory, I don't think Bono has any more detractors than any other big celeb. So I respectfully disagree...

I don't think a person would have to disclose the amount in order for someone to get their hands on it, I imagine there are other ways to get that information.

Even if he doesn't sing, I think watching Bono coaching the singers will be interesting! Don't the coaches sometimes act as 'guest judge' as well?

I'm not a musician, so I guess my thoughts on this subject are a little different. I can see how a musician would look to the most musically complex, sophisticated work as being the 'best'. For myself, though, I feel like a song is something greater than the sum of its parts. I don't need each...

So just curious...are/were you a psychology/anthropology/sociology major? That some people think you should be a fan of the people involved and some people think only the music is important? Substitute 'concept' or 'idea' for 'music' and I'd say this is true of most things.

I'm thinking this whole Bono/Idol thing is not gonna happen. The American Idol website had this up: Nowhere is he mentioned as a performer, which makes me think he's not involved. This being Idol I think they'd be hyping it to high heaven if he was.
