To be fair it wouldn't surprise me if they actually didn't care about what everyone else thinks. They have broken promises regarding album release dates as far back as NLOH as far as I can remember, probably further for the more experienced supporters.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they have indeed pushed it back to 2018 as Chris Evans told me this morning. We've had the Joshua Tree Tour 2017 and a special re issue release of The Joshua Tree Super Deluxe....

It makes sense now to release the NEW record next year in 2018..... as painful as that sounds[/QUOTE]



If makes no sense at all considering edge even told zane Lowe a couple of weeks back in an interview that it would probably be this year, and Bono has been speaking about it throughout the tour
 
The boys better put this album out soon or else we're all going to die in a nuclear war without one last blast of new U2 music.
 
They need to put it out before war starts, so they don't have to pause again and say "gosh, the landscape has changed again. We'd better go rethink these songs!"

It doesn't make sense to release RH at the end of the year.

It doesn't make any sense to bring up the no shit Sherlock story of the JT tour.

It doesn't make sense to film a video.

It doesn't make any fucking sense to tell your mouthy pizza dude a scoop that you could use as an exclusive.

It doesn't make any sense to hold on to this story and throw away any chance of being a liked or credible poster.

Yep I don't buy it either! I know we've been burned before quite a few times regarding an album comming out especially in the last 15 years or so. Remember when u2 said that they had the album ready and Paul M crushed our hopes? Anyway this feels a lot different than those times. There is a lot of concrete evidence, there are the listening parties, the videos, the Bono talk during the shows, the interviews, the playing of little things that to etc to believe this. I'll give George the benefit of the doubt here and say maybe he did ask Chris? about the album but maybe this guy probably gets asked by every u2 fan that meets him and he said fuck you I am not giving you any info so I'll just say this..... There is no way this guy would loose his reputation and face legal action to tell you the truth if he even knew. No offense but you are probably just one of hundreds that asked this guy about the u2 album and I am sure he wouldn't trust you. You've been played by Chris or whatever the guys name is.

Exactly. Just like Greg's job can be on the line now by outing his clientele, Evans reputation and more would be on the line. Anyone want to call his work? I kid, I kid, we only call churches around here.

Totally agreed my friend :) no way in bloody hell this guy would risk everything to spell the beans to a Joe Schmo. Everyone relax. As RD suggested maybe Bono lost the bag with the album in it but it will be found and delivered before the end of the year :)

He's not Joe Schmo...He's the pizza guy for God's sake!!! It's like Evans was given the biggest scoop of the year and the pizza guy shows up. High on coke according to a previous post. He just has to get it off his chest. It's 2020...20 f'ng 20!!! There there!!!
 
George is not a guy with a history of bullshit, so the R&H and this come as out of character. I feel for someone who comes here to share something they heard.

I feel like people get roasted well beyond what is reasonable on here, but this is one that just makes no sense, and when you analyse who it is from, and the circumstances under which it was obtained, it just can't fly in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

I certainly would have held onto that one until I'd checked with some reputable, well connected posters in PMs first.

Oh, for sure - I'm just saying, he has been a fairly decent contributor in the past - he isn't (or wasn't) a serial pest like some of the more famous rumour mongers around here.
 
man there was one shithead who deserved to be banned a few times for spreading totally false rumors. had an old(er) school Bono picture for his avatar. you guys know who I'm talking about. the worst.
