I'm sticking to my prediction that the album will not be called Songs of Experience, and it will not be connected to the last tour. Calling it Songs of Experience will be a vestigial reminder that they couldn't act with haste and purpose. I don't think they'd ding their egos like that.

I 100% believe this is legit. If we were to see a new music + continue the tour, a date in October would fit right in.

But a little off topic here. I just listened to invisible after a bit and, while I loved SOI and still revisit it (which is why potential delays don't bother me much), I can't help but wonder how great some songs may have sounded had they just stuck with Dangermouse.

Invisible is an awesome song, sonically interesting while also pulling back to the U2 greatness for the chorus.

Loved it when I first heard it on repeat, but didn't make a final judgement on it because of my inevitable bias, but so glad to see that it sounds even better given some time.

So... October in Columbus, huh?

The melody in the verses is just wonderful. Bono trips over himself with the lyrics though by trying to force too many god damn syllables into the line. This has been a bit of a problem since ATYCLB

But to just hum that melody line, it's really nice. Wish there were more verses to expand upon it, or I'd even take just more of the same.

Now this isn't what is holding U2 back from having a HIT, but I feel his vocals are holding back some of the music with general sloppiness. That and Edge hasn't come up with a decent guitar line in a long time.

Curious to see how the next five weeks go in the U2 world. They're getting real close to their holiday vacation time, and if we don't hear anything before then, I just cannot see an album or tour coming in Spring of 2017

Shame they threw it out there and then let it rot. It could have done so much more.

Top 40 hit? Of course not. Big play on adult alternative and rock radio? Yea. But after a big start they just let it die. Biggest shame of the whole start/stop thing.
