LA #4 Setlist Party

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

all negativity aside, this tour probably has my favorite versions ever of UTEOTW. absolute fire, visually it's absolutely incredible, and the outro is sort of powerful

if only U2 had the boldness to try it out as a raging closer on a previous tour, but they don't really do the "raging closer" aside from Vertigox2

so do they play this same setlist throughout europe in the summer? and then change it up when they come back to the states next year.

there's no reason to think they will do anything different this summer.

it would be nice if they changed things up next year. but if they play brand new markets which were missed this time around, they may not even bother.

yeah the ending is great!!! edge's guitar man that would be a great closer. but it doesn't fit the theme.

UTEOTW is the one of the few songs that sounded REALLY good on opening night. They seem to be incapable of fucking that one up.

I love the screen. I think it adds so much to the songs that even when i'm like *siiigh* it gives you something to watch! The Wanderer intermission is brilliant.

I agree WOWY, One and BD are my most overplayed songs. I understand they're favourites but honestly, they are mediocre songs to me.

However I love the show. I can't wait till it comes here. Being able to watch it on periscope from so many different spots is amazing, and i'm so glad my work timetable has let me fit so many concerts in! haha!

has it been confirmed that they're coming back to the states after europe?

yeah it doesn't fit the theme this tour at all, but on an old tour (then again, maybe not any of the other tours either...) it could've worked.

Gone, HMTMKMKM, and UTEOTW would all work great as closers

I think UTEOTW is up there with Streets and Bad in their "can't fail" department. there's a reason they played it when they got inducted into the Rock Hall.

Oh no, remember how many 360 performances of it were fucked up by Bono slowing it riiiight down in the middle.

But yeah, of all the warhorses, it's one of the most consistently reliable, excellent, and electric. All three of WOWY, ISHFWILF, and One on the other hand... ugh, they've had some shocking tours of late. I actually reserve the strongest words for ISHFWILF, because half the time Bono doesn't even sing most of it.

I finally caught on to how The Wanderer ties in thematically as the halfway point of the set.

"I went out there...in search of experience."

That's about it, but it's something.

Ok for Invisible, is the band actually inside the screen, or what's the deal with that?

on the plus side, the shows will start an hour earlier in denver next weekend as the band moves into the mountain time zone.

Yes. They are in the screen for Invisible and then for most of Even Better Than the Real Thing, and at the end of that, they make their way down to the E stage for the "take me higher" part.

How long was the Love & Peace or Else snippet?

That would kick ass after Bullet instead of Pride. But then again I think a lot of things would like RTSS, Kite, Gone...
