Random Music Talk LXXXVII: Which one of you called my church?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I'd hate to see how much of the U2 "news" threads contain actual news.

Amen. Those have been little more than a 5,000 post pissing contest at this point.

And Bomac, I had much the same reaction to SF. Probably the only US city I would consider leaving Chicago for.

I'll be visiting SF in two months or so (as part of a small California roadtrip that includes Pearl Jam concerts). Looking forward to it.

The title really needs a comma:

Random, Music Talk!

This was random, about music, and no one responded.

:sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:

People have been notified.

It's one of those bands/artists I don't know what to do with. Martha and Impy both like = what the hell do I do with it? check it out cos it might kick ass, or run away cos it's probably low key, minimal music mainly focused on a female singer?

The last time I investigated a band that fell under that weirdly mixed opinion, it was tame impala, and you guys know how well that turned out for me. I do like me some string quartets, though.

I"m not sure why people always act as if The Clash is mentioned here on a weekly basis. We probably talk about them in the random thread 2 to 3 times a year. It's hardly a common occurrence. I only wish it happened more often.

The stereotype is that the quality of London Calling is discussed on a regular basis, not The Clash in general. I wish we'd talk about the other albums, I've only heard LC and the self titled.

Unrelated note, I had no idea Pearl Jam had an album coming soon, or had singles out. Unless you're a big fan, they pretty much have the exposure of an indie band at this point.

What does this have to do with random music? I'm really not trying to be an ass. I know people say that all the time without meaning it but I'm genuinely curious why some of you treat this as a chat thread when it is "supposed" to be about random music. Maybe that's why newcomers to this forum don't like to post here about random music thoughts and would rather start their own thread. Just a thought... for posters like Lazarus who seem to be the forum's thread police.

The thing is, it's not like a bunch of us got together and decided to make a covert random music thread to shoot the shit in. Every single one of the 'regulars' were newcomers at some point. So we're the people you think don't want to post our random music thoughts. When I first started posting in Interference regularly, I saw this thread, thought the people in it were funny, so I started posting in it. There have been a bunch of people since then that were newcomers who have become regulars. It's open to whoever wants to post. And for the most part, newcomers are defended by the majority of the regulars if anyone tries to shit on them

The fact that their thread is always on the first page right now didn't clue you in?

Also, Chicago's "alternative" station is playing the fuck out of that single... Which displeases me. But if you LIKE the song, the feeling is probably far more positive.

The band never stops touring, so I pretty much never go into the thread.

Mind Your Manners seems fun. Sirens seems adult contemporary.

She's a female singer who can sing, and sounds like a woman, not a cutesy squeaky mouse.

I don't think it's low key, but it might be.

like the mma thread

Have you seen any of this season of Bellator? I'm not sure what happened to that organization, I liked them on MTV, but the recent fights are painfully boring on Spike.

FYI, GLORY Kickboxing has their first televised event on Spike tonight.

In music news, I am looking forward to the Arcade Fire "concert" tonight after SNL. Bummer it's only 30 mins long.

Speaking of bummers, I should have been in DC right now, awaiting Atoms For Peace on Monday. Friggin' jobs.

I've only seen a handful of Bellator events. That sucks they've turned shitty, but part of me is happy because Spike was being pretty slimey at the end of the UFC run.

Speaking of Spike, I was wrong about them airing Glory. It's on CBS Sports in the US, Fight Network in Canada.
