I know they've been at it for a while but I feel like the past, current, and future Wrestlemania's have really established the event as a premier stadium event.

It is almost become like the Super Bowl where cities want WrestleMania because it spikes the local economy for a week or so.

RIP William Moody AKA Paul Bearer/Percy Pringle. He was 58. Paul Bearer was mostly famous for being the manager of The Undertaker as well as Kane and Mankind.

He was awesome. I used to prank people when I was younger using his voice. It was so fun!

WrestleMania 29 is 6 days away! For the first time ever, it will take place at an outdoor stadium in a cold weather city. As of today, there's a 30 percent chance of rain and the temps will be in the low to mid 50's. Should be interesting for the 80,000 plus in attendance. WWE has jacked up the price of the PPV to 70 dollars HD and 60 dollars SD. I'm still not 100 percent sure if I'll be getting the PPV, but it's been a while since I've missed WWE's biggest show of the year. Here's a look at the card so far:

WWE Champion- The Rock vs. John Cena
World Champion- Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger
The Streak- The Undertaker vs. CM Punk
HHH vs. Brock Lesnar (If HHH loses he must retire)
IC Champion- Wade Barrett vs. The Miz
WWE Tag Champions- Team Hell No vs. Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston
Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show vs. The Shield
Mark Henry vs. Ryback
Chris Jericho vs. Fandango
Mixed Tag Match- Tensai, Brodus Clay andThe Funkadactyls vs. Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow and the Bella Twins.

Wwe sucks these days pretty bad when they have to keep bringing the rock back!!

60/70 for a PPV immediately struck me as pretty insane, even if this is the "big one" as far as pro wrestling is concerned.

I saw a lot of disappointed reviews for this one and I have to say, just about ever year, that seems to be the case. As though this is the annual letdown.

Any reviews on this year's effort?

I actually decided to check out WrestleMania this year, especially since it was at MetLife stadium. I thought it was a pretty solid show. Taker versus Punk was the best match of the night. Rock/Cena II was actually pretty good. Started off a little slow, but kicked it into high gear towards the end. HHH vs. Lesnar was good as well. Started off slow, but built towards an entertaining finish. The Shield versus Show/Sheamus/Orton was a great match and showed that the Shield are for real. Jericho vs Fandango was actually a solid match. Jericho was the perfect guy for Fandango to wrestle in his WWE debut. Mark Henry versus Ryback was another solid match. It was good to see Mark get the victory over Ryback. Del Rio versus Swagger was pretty good. Even the Team Hell No match versus Ziggler and Langston was entertaining. Overall an entertaining PPV. Plus, it was awesome to see Metlife Stadium set up for WrestleMania. Glad it didn't rain and it wasn't too cold for the fans.

I don't really understand Lucky's comment about it being a rehash of last year. Rock/Cena was the only match that took place at last year's event, plus the title was on the line this year with Rock coming in as champ. I even watched it with my girlfriend who also thought the show was entertaining and she's not a wrestling fan.

Plus, on Monday's Raw, Ziggler finally cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and defeated Alberto Del Rio to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Good stuff!

Can't have the wrestling thread bumped off the first page. Coming up this Sunday is SummerSlam 26. Should be a pretty good show. Cena/Daniel Bryan for the WWE title. Can Bryan do the "impossible"? Brock Lesnar vs CM Punk. The Beast vs. The Best. World Champ Alberto Del Rio takes on Christian. Those are some of the matches in what some people regard as WWE's 2nd biggest PPV of the year. I'll be rooting for the faces to get the job done in the big matches. YES! YES! YES! :hyper:

Long regarded as the best announcer in pro wrestling, WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross, has announced his retirement from WWE. JR was with the WWF/E since 1993. WWE hadn't used him too often at the announce table in the past few years, but they were still utilizing his mind. Plus, every once and a while, he'd come out to call a match or two. Shit, I'm even guilty of using some of his catchphrases if the moment fits.

"Business has just picked up!"

"We've got a real slobberknocker here!"

"Good God almighty!"

There will never be another like JR.

Time to fire up the pro wrestling thread. The unthinkable has happened! The Ultimate Warrior will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame!

Your wish has finally come true.

Nice! I don't care that he was awful in the ring. I thought he was fun to watch. Will he actually appear on Raw? I haven't watched wrestling in over 10 years so I'm not sure how this all works.

I think in the past, I was a little rough on the "legacy" of the Ultimate Warrior. Sure, he wasn't Bret Hart in the ring, but he excited the audience. Replacing Hulk Hogan as the number one dude in the WWF couldn't have been easy to do. Plus, the guy was just in a different place mentally back then. I think WWE has shown that they can bury the hatchet with a lot of guys. Bruno, Hogan and Bret Hart would be somewhat recent examples. Yes, Savage isn't in, but that has more to do with Savage wanting to go into the HOF with his father and brother or not at all.

Usually the HOF Class shows up at WrestleMania as well as the Raw the night after.

Nice, I'll have to give it a watch. I just want the old man version to shake the ropes and clothesline someone that's all.

Stranger things have happened. Jake The Snake Roberts showed up on Old School Raw last week, so I'd say anything is possible. If you're a fan of the Warrior, if you haven't already, you might wanna check out the WWE Network. It's set to launch on 2/24. From what WWE has presented, it's pretty much a wrestling fan's dream. I'm not sure if I'm gonna get it, but it sounds pretty damn cool.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts joins The Ultimate Warrior in the WWE 2014 Hall of Fame Class!

That would be awesome if they built it up with Jake Roberts trying to help the Ultimate Warrior get over his fear of snakes again.

I think it would be something just to see Warrior in make up and ring gear running out to the ring and shaking the ropes.

it's just weird times for the WWE

I just hope CM Punk returns with a nice program and Daniel Bryan wins all he has to win at Wrestlemania

Because, let's face it, the Royal Rumble SUCKED

I agree. These are weird times for WWE. Punk leaving sucks, but I think it's best for him to take a break. He's mentally and physically exhausted. McMahon would like him to stay, so that's a good sign.

With Punk gone, Bryan is the best "wrestler" left. In the past, McMahon has always preferred that the face get his ass kicked for months and then finally have his triumphant moment. (preferably at WrestleMania)

If McMahon decides its gonna be Orton/Batista at WrestleMania, he might be in for a shock when he looks at the buyrates afterward.

I haven't watched wrestling in years, but I feel like Orton and Batista is a main event I could have seen 10 years ago.

10 years ago, Batista and Orton were actually tag team partners with Ric Flair vs. The Rock and Mick Foley in a 3 on 2 handicap tag match at WrestleMania XX. They have faced each other before, but not too often. The last time they competed against each other was in June 2009 at Extreme Rules for the WWE title in a Steel Cage match. Batista defeated Orton to win the title. I understand what you're saying, though. For a good portion of the mid to late 2000's, it seemed like every WWE PPV Main Event involved either HHH, Orton, Cena or Batista.
