Oh, that's not why I'm pissed. I'm pissed because he LEFT for the night to sleep and didn't even bother to make someone else stay in his stead. If I actually HAD gone last night to check in, like I kinda wanted to, he wouldn't even have fucking been there. I could've claimed to be #1 (though I wouldn't have, as I wouldn't have wanted to stay there the next three days).

Okay, I still haven't read this page, but here's what just happened.

I went to the stadium and checked in. #55.

The guy running the line is named CHRIS, not Nick. Chris seems kiiiinda an ass. Chris started the line at noon yesterday, then at night, went to his room at the Radisson to sleep. Leaving no one to check people in. He is planning on doing the same tonight, though he said this time he might leave a note in a camp chair.

Since the stadium is allowing people to come officially at 6am, the check in is at 4am Saturday. Chris seemed to reaffirm that security is cool with him and what he's doing, in case anyone still has doubts that this line is officially allowed.

I'm pretty pissed off.

WOW :coocoo:

Hilarious. I was there yesterday at 3pm, and was approached by a guy with a notebook who said he was making a list. Yes I'm GA, but I told him I wasn't interested. This is fantastically silly, because I'm pretty sure it wasn't "Chris." The guy I talked to was local and staying at home, not at a hotel. He was not camping out, and security was not sending people to him. At 3:30 he said he was "going to take one more lap." So we very likely may have multiple or merged lists. He was chatting a lot with two security guys, but these guys were not decision-makers, and they certainly didn't look like they could make it out of bed before 6am on a saturday. Just because he says security is cool with him, does not mean he's got them in his pocket.

But as many have said: nobody freak out. If all 55 of these people are there pre-6am on Saturday, so be it. Why they're swinging by the stadium today to give their names to some dude who may or may not be there is beyond me.

I'm looking forward to walking to the front of the line saturday afternoon when I arrive to see if the guy I talked to is, in fact, "Chris". More than that, though, I'm looking forward to a U2 concert.

From number 1 on the list. he started it yesterday at noon. he went home several times including to sleep last night. that would explain why I made laps of the stadium at 1130pm,730am, noon, and 3pm and saw no one. He's trying to keep it low key. Was a tad frustrated by the situation but Im over it now. I've seen more than my share of shows and I have more important stuff to worry about. Looking forward to a great show and a weekend with my awesome girlfriend

 cool heads prevail. Someone posted an email here from the official security high-up, and it's the same team who did security for the Nashville show. I'm confident they'll handle GA well

I have issues with someone running the line, going home, and trying to keep it low key. That isn't fair, but whatever. I'm not lining up early.

Enjoy your weekend Tim! Thanks for the update.

Hey all, I've just got kind of a weird question.

What all do you bring with you to the show? I'm doing seats, no need for GA planning, but besides the tickets, is there anything I need, or you'd recommend bringing along? I'm assuming I'd be fine with just my tickets and some cash, right? No need for the credit card I bought them with, or anything?

Dumb question but I am a U2 concert virgin Thanks.

They take credit cards at the stands/booths, if you'd rather use it than cash. Um, maybe a hat? Phone? Keys? Chapstick? Band-aid? Tissues? Pen & paper? (yes, I'm just listing crap that's in my purse...)

I'll probably bring all that stuff, considering that I am a complete dope who always wants to plan obsessively ahead. Thanks for the help! :)

Lol, well...it was necessary through Anaheim, heh. Ah, the good old days. XD

But oh! It's a good excuse to buy merch if you need another layer and "forgot" to bring one. I get cold easily, I've used that one before. ;)

I'm digging the idea of headache meds. I'm not a crowd person in the least, but with seats I'm not too worried. Maybe GA someday... someday.

I found it when I got back to my car this evening--there was 30 minute parking on part of the side street between it and the Days Inn. /relevant to only meeee ;)
