I'm the only person in my department who doesn't watch The Office. I tried for a few episodes of season 1, but I just never found it funny. At all. :reject: I've managed to keep that fact well hidden, because they'd probably shun me if they knew I didn't watch it.
:uhoh::uhoh: :giggle: :hug:

Part of my TV viewing since 2003 was shaped by the nasty roomate who hogged the TV - untuil i got a deccent one off the street in ? 2007-8. Where i then ran into earlier Lost reruns (S1 - 3) , and latter part of S.4 on first run.

So alot of shows i never caught and are now either over or in several seasons in. I saw ?2-3 eps of The Office. I could see why it was fun n y to a loto f people, but i didn't find it that consisently funny.

I watch somne of the CSI's but only as stand alones , not following larger arcs .
And I catch some Grey's Anatomy , too.

I'm looking foward to V, The Event, Hawaii 5-0.....
MY priobem now is getting a better anttenae (no Cable) b/c I often have togo through hoops :scream: to get certain channels.

435 coffees for me, please!

A little sleepy today, are we?

I've found more and more that I go days and days without even turning my tv on, unless I'm watching a U2 dvd, or a show I've burned, and the latter tends to happen more in the summer when Sarah's home.

Yay, I've managed to accomplish one of my prerequisite to drinking tonight jobs! That THAT, PMS laziness.

I went for about a week without turning on the TV except to watch a movie on DVR or DVD, which I kept separate from "watching TV" or "TV as background noise."

That went well.

Now, if only I could do that with my computer. :scream:

I suck at the "no-watching of the TV." I generally always have it on in the background too. Now that TV shows are starting up again, I've cut down on my watching of Lost, which was basically all I watched for the last month. There's only 5 more episodes left until I'm done.

My computer is on 24-7. At one time, I think a statement like that would have been a source of shame, but it's like we've become so reliant on them - entertainment, reading material, social stuff, work/info gathering.

I pretty much live alone most of the time, so if I'm home and not doing housework or interacting with the cats, what else is there to do?

I suppose I could take up a hobby of some sort. But then I'd have to look it up on the computer.

Sorry i'm in & out :giggle:

On my U2 come down now

Photobucket isn't playing tonight :madwife:

Aw. I hate that. And boo PB.

The sad thing is, I have multiple other things I could do besides goofing around online.

I could write - I like to hand write a lot of stuff, so I wouldn't need to have the computer on. (*but see also our PM conversation about being undisciplined  )

I could read. I read a lot as it is.

I could, oh, I don't know ... get out and do something resembling anything?

*sigh*

What's this getting out thing you speak of?

It's just as bad out there though, with smartphones and texting. It's like everyone I see when I'm out has a phone glued to their hand. At least I'm not that bad. Yet. :shifty:

Remember back in the late 90s when everyone was all "oooh, beware internet addiction!" Um, yeah. That went well for society.

DG, did you spill it on people? :yikes:

I just spilled a margarita all over a table. :reject:

Oops! :uhoh:

Even back when I had roommates, I still always had the TV/computer going. :giggle: I find it easier to justify my slothfulness and hibernation in the fall/winter months, as there's no way in hell I'm going outside to do stuff. In the summer I try to be outside as much as possible, but it doesn't always happen.

I keep meaning to do more with friends and stuff, but it never happens. A group of friends I used to hang out with all the time is re-instating game night starting soon, so that will be fun to hang out with them again.

Ha! I do okay with my phone. I'm not attached to it, but probably because I don't get a lot of texts. Unless I'm traveling for U2 concerts, in which case my phone explodes with texts and I freak out because I can't keep up or keep them straight.

Same with the texts. If Sarah's home and I'm not going to U2 shows, I can go days or a week or so with nary a text...but I'm familiar with the U2 explosion. In fact, I put myself on a plan before the shows last fall, and I'm glad I did, would have cost me a fortune. It does seem like I'm getting more lately though, more people in my life seem to be texting now.

That whole blog is filled with so much awesomeness. I read the entire thing over a couple of days several months ago.

Oh, it will happen. I vowed never to be one of those people, yet as soon as I got the damn crackberry, it's become glued to my hand. It was funny - today a bunch of us went out for lunch to celebrate a co-workers birthday, and at the end when everyone was paying, half of us had our phones out and were doing stuff. :reject:

If I'm with other people, I only take out the phone if they are doing it. Otherwise I try to resist the urge to have it out.

 Yeah, that site is awesome. I've been slowly reading thru the archives of that in the past few days.

But...it's too hot in the summer! :whines:

 Out where you are, maybe. But here? It rarely gets past 30C. But I'm a whore for the heat, so that makes me happy when there's a heatwave. :D

Game night is always a blast. These friends have a fabulous liquor closet (yes - CLOSET!!), so we usually have a potluck dinner and hang out for a while, then when we're good and inebriated the games/Wii come out, and much hilarity ensues. I really miss these friends and am glad they're starting this up again.

Girls.:heart: Sorry I just disappeared before. :reject: BB battery was on its way out. Got home not long ago. :crack::love: Craig left a cold beer in my fridge so drinking that while I let people know I am home, then am off to bed. :)

Only taken from 1.30pm until 11.30pm to get from Brussels to my home. :crack:

Will put my pics up tommorow.:heart:

cori (and anyone else in the States), I'm not sure if you know about this, but tomorrow is Museum Day, and there are apparently tons and tons of museums that you can visit for free, if you download a coupon. Museum Day September 25th 2010 | Smithsonian.com

I'm so jealous! If I were in Seattle this weekend, I totally would have participated.

ETA - Hi and bye, Jem! Hope you get a good night of sleep!

No, I only spilled it on the table. It almost hit the guy, but he practically jumped out of the way.

All of that tequila gone to waste. :sigh:

Glad you made it home Jem!

Group PGP pic with eyepatches in front of a vending machine? Methinks that is a fabulous idea.

We have another crappy day here! Lovely!

Yay for actually having a conversation at Timmies today instead of the usual two second chats because my work is so damn busy

I've barely been here all week. Need to spend some quality time in the 360 photo thread this weekend.

Hope all your shows are going well Zooey

At the Jays game - the roof is opening :D It's quieter on the inside than the outside

Have fun!!

435 coffees for me, please!

I didn't have a TV for the past 3 years I spent in Orlando. It used to drive my coworkers crazy, almost every day someone would say "Oooh, did you see... last night?" and I'd have to remind them that I was TV-less.

oooooo THAT would drive me up a wall- not having a TV!:no:

I have been talking to a friend trying to decide between having Cable TV OR a subscribed Net Service whhch I don't
have yet)- because I don't have enough monthly $ to pay for Basic Cable- an ISP would be better for me.

I know & decided:
1> I have an wide range of serious and fun Interests at mild to intense levels.
2> I beleive fun/play & humour are essential to my healthy being (as it is tfor almost all persons).
3> My schedule can vary a fair amount.

i decided my goal is to get the subscribed Net Provider.

Even though i couldn't see certain TV in First Run, my friend has told me about HULU! So i could keep up (even if) more slowly on certain Cable shows. :hyper:
Tne Net has such a vast range of intersting, fun & instructive material - it more than off-sets the Cable TV isssue esp with HULU ( or some equivalent service available) .:D

We have a TV and a bazillion channels. But we watch MSNBC, PBSKids and Palladia. And that's pretty much it. The occasional episode of Law and Order or Rescue Me.

Unless it's summer. I LOVE all the USA original shows - Psyche, Burn Notice and Royal Pains (even though that show is TERRIBLY written).

Awww, my boy was on an episode of Burn Notice this year!:heart:
