The amount of absolute butthurt I've witnessed via my Facebook friends' status updates has been astounding. You'd think Obama just... killed a baby.
my premiums have been going up an average of 33% a year without any government help.
thankfully, i had my accident after i became a paying member of BCBS, otherwise, i might be uninsurable.
Multitasking and laser-like focus are oxymorons.he can multitask.
No Olympics for Chicago. No climate treaty.as ever: what can't O do?

I've watched most of this debate on C-Span today.
There are a couple of real fringe, whack jobs in Congress. pandering to the paranoid masses out there.
Reporters in the House chamber said the “baby killer” shout seemed to come from a group of lawmakers that included Rep. John Campbell (R-Calif.), but he said it wasn’t him. “I don't think it’s appropriate at all," Campbell told POLITICO.
Campbell said the voice came from the floor – from someone who was behind him and to the left. "Some people know who it is but won't say,” he added.
Later, he told reporters that he thought the voice belonged to one of the Texas Republicans seated behind him. "The people who know won't give it up," he told reporters. "I'm not casting dispersions on that state."
Texas Republican Rep. Joe Barton said he heard the shout but wouldn't say who was responsible.
"I can make a guess," Barton told reporters.
House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey (D-Wis.), who was in the chair at the time, said he saw a Republican lawmaker shout out “baby killer” – but he wouldn’t say who it was, either.
"I think members have a right to make an idiot of themselves once without being exposed," he said.
House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who was subjected to an anti-gay epithet from a protestor Saturday, said the "baby killer" shout showed the close alignment between the GOP and some of its most extreme allies in the health care fight.
"The difference between some of the Republicans and some of their raucous followers appears to be, unfortunately, diminishing," Frank said. "Obviously, that's not the whole party, but there's a disturbing tendency to forget about civility."

someone called it soviet style heathcare.
question for the historians, because i seriously don't know. at what point was everyone in the soviet union provided government supported healthcare?
No Olympics for Chicago. No climate treaty.
That was the whole point of socialism - I imagine there were instances where some people didn't get covered, but the one of the concepts of the Soviet Union was health care for all.
However, there were no insurance companies, no private hospitals, just the state, which is a huge difference.
Many European countries (including my own) has a government-owned, government-run health care system, with a private option for those who want it (and can afford it). If "Obamacare" is "Soviet style" then I guess I'm living in North Korea...
So, have the gays started rounding up the Christians yet? Isn't that what was supposed to happen the minute this thing passed?
Just want to share my enthusiasm for this bill, even though I live in Denmark and this has nothing to do with me, I genuinely believe that all Americans will benefit from this legislation. A big congratulations to Obama and Pelosi and every U.S. citizen from me.
Start de-friending, or at least start feed blocking.
That's what I'd do to you, frankly. Wait.
*sigh*
Mark this down as one reason FYM is dead to me.
Because for the second time in 10 years the Democrats have had their way with something.
The drama, the drama!
How absolutely phony these GOP look going on about the lives of 'unborn' children, and in the same breath saying we can't afford health care for the borned.
if i already didn't feel like an indebtured servant already, i never have felt more ashamed to be an american than i do today, Sorry Grace, Daddy couldn't save you
Especially the two that have made gun references. I can't stand Pelosi either, but mentioning that a .45 is the first thought that comes to your head when you see her face is just a tad deranged.
Same with "I'm gonna buy my 9 millimeter insurance policy this weekend." .
When are you gonna join the rest of us in complaining about how a mismanaged and misguided war set us back trillions in the first place?

When are you gonna join the rest of us in complaining about how a mismanaged and misguided war set us back trillions in the first place? Talk about cherry picking!
It's sad that now insurance companies can't cancel policies at will. Just SAD.
Apparently you have a different threshold for shame than some.

my grandmother was on medicare but got turned down for treatment (from uncle sam) after alzheimer's so where does that leave us? exactly
She got turned down for what kind of treatment? After a certain point there really is no treatment for alzheimer's.
Today I am proud, for maybe my children will grow up in a country where profits won't decide if someone lives or dies, and their friends' health won't be determined by what kind of job their friends' parents have.
i guess being fiscally irresponsible is the right thing to do. time to up my credit card limit and go to town, then others can pick up for my irresponsible spending...life is great, no accountablily for anyone at anytime.
