We're all like ships passing in the night, these days. :(

Thora, since you're a fellow foodie, thought you might like to see this. We made this tonight for Olympic curling/hockey/Lost:

awesome spinach and ricotta cannelloni | Jamie Oliver recipes

Yeah, I haven't been online much, except in the Olympics thread. Too much other shit going on in my real life. :sigh: Hopefully things will get better soon.

Wow - that looks delicious! How does it taste?

Me either. Sarah's home this week, so now that I have an actual person to talk to in the house, I've been taking advantage of it.

It was delish. Not to sound like one of *those* people, but I made it just the way the recipe said, with fresh herbs and Parmesan that didn't come out of a shaker jar like I usually use :reject: and it really made a difference!

And the sauce in the bottom of the pan, omg. I think that's going to be my go-to spaghetti sauce from now on.

Oh, the only thing I didn't use was creme fraiche, I don't even think you can buy that here. I looked online and it said you can substitute sour cream, so I used 3 parts that, and 1 part balkan yogurt.

Aww, that's nice!

 I totally agree with you - using fresh ingredients is SO important if you really want food to look and taste the way it's supposed to. It's often more expensive to buy the good stuff, but holy shit does it ever taste better when you do! I'm a firm believer in spending good money on food.

I'll have to try that some day for sure!

I've never been much for using real herbs before, but I'm sold on them, now.

Did you get to see the hockey game? :hyper:

And what else is happening in here? Is Jess going to the SLC show? And Zooey? :hyper: You need to keep me apprised of these things, people!

GLUEY!!!!!!! :clings: How are you??

:hyper: I'm good fine!!! (Good's boring...fine lets you get away with SO much more!!)

Dying of the heat and humidity here at the moment...every pore in my body is screaming for air. Doesn't help that I work outside in it and therefore have no aircon!! :giggle: But I am woman, and I has a tough! :D

How are you?!?!?! I've missed you and everyone else sooooo much!!

:( I gotta go just for a bit....technically I'm cooking dinner...realistically I'm burning the potatoes...

See you soon!!

I'm freezing my ass off, I'll trade you!  Actually, we've had a really mild, mostly snow-free winter so far, so I shouldn't compain.

All kinds of shit going on for me, I've had a stressful year, but REALLY looking forward to this summer with my girls. And my boy. :shifty:

Eta - noooo, don't go! Come back soon, at least!

My parents grow many of their own herbs in their little garden, or on the windowsill of their kitchen, so I always take some home with me after I visit them.

I saw the first period, which was really boring. I missed all the good stuff. I'm training for a 10k run, and my running team meets for training on Tues & Thurs evenings, so I didn't see it. Stupid real life commitments screwing with my ability to see Olympics!

You saw Lost? It's after 10 there, so... We left the game late in the 2nd to watch Lost, and it was already 3 - 0.

I can't have indoor herbs because my cats would eat them. :| They're already killing the bamboo stalks I've had for years. :madwife:

Training is awesome, though! You're doing more than sitting on your ass watching other people, which is all I'm doing! I had to go to 4 different grocery stores today, and that felt like a workout. :reject:

Yup, I saw Lost. Got home at 7-ish, and the game had just ended.

Aww, silly cats. :cute:

Well, that's a workout of sorts! I have a love/hate relationship with running, yet as much as I sometimes hate it, the love is enough to keep me training year after year for races. :nerd:

Maybe... I can't do this one and Chicago... I'm not sure I can do Chicago at all... not sure I can do SLC either... but it's nice to dream... and have a ticket in hand even if you have to wind up selling it later...

Off to bed. 2/6 shows down, 4 more to go before Friday
