2010 Leg Announcement on u2.com now - TOUR DATES - Part III

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Face value for the MUSE tickets in the US (for the shows I am attending) are $48.50 (not including ticketmaster fees). I have GAs and seats and all are the same price!

Ticketbastard had GAs listed for $60 in Fort Worth. Face value on my seats was $48.50, though. :hmm:

Could this be it?

So look's like that would be it for North America? Only 13 cities,15 shows in 47 days?

The band won't be worn out at the end of the leg, that's for sure.......32 days off out of a 47 days leg

The tour page at U2.com no longer says "Additional cities and dates to be announced later"

 I'm REALLY surprised there will be no additional NA dates...especially Mexico City.

The tours page doesn't say that because it has the 2nd show announcement up for Zurich. After friday when it goes on sale it will probably revert back to the original page and say "additional dates yet to be announced" etc etc. TV3 in Ireland said u2 has signed the dotted line to play AVIVA stadium in Dublin to take place at the end of the 2010 Europe leg, so there will be additional shows being announced in the near future i'm sure. I think the 2010 trek will end something like this...

USA-18 concerts/if they play Mexico City/possibly Salt Lake City
EUROPE-27 concerts/they have a lot of gaps they can fill in including most likely 2-3 shows in Dublin at Aviva stadium Cap 50,000/60,000 for each concert taking place after Rome.
TOTAL 45 shows like PM said in the Chile newspaper interview.
Australia/South America-FEB/March 2011 and wherever else they decide to play.

I think this is the first time the "additional cities" wording has been removed, so it looks like no more legs for 2010 at least.

the thing is though it said "additional cities to be announced" after Zurich went on sale. Zurich 2 is an additional show, not an additional city. so who knows, i personally think it will go back to additional cities to be announced in a few days.

If I remember right, I believe the "additional cities/dates.." statement has always been on the tour page -before, during, and after presales.

the who point is mute. if the statement was taken down but we all know another Dublin show has been scheduled, that statement means nothing.

exactly, who cares.. the point is there will be additional shows/cities added to the 2010 tour. PM said there will be around 45 shows also in 2010. they are sitting at 37 right now.

Mistakes have been known to happen - I will not read anything into the phrase about additional towns/cities going missing.

yeah, most of us know u2.com has made mistakes on their tours page before..lol

True. And we also all know that PM has said things that didn't turn out to be the entire truth also.

I wouldn't bet my life on either PM or the tour page of U2.com.

Me neither. Especially now that they (the band + PM) have sold certain touring rights to Live Nation - I would imagine that the band no longer call ALL the shots.

And the wording on the tour page was a little ambiguous - i.e. "to be confirmed" as opposed to "to be announced". Confirmation with the venues, etc. may be done.

That really might be it for tour announcements for now. Just checked the Tour page on
u2.com and the columns in the table of dates relating to presales have all been deleted.

That doesn't look good for even the Dublin shows - I guess those were just rumor. Thought they were trying for 45 shows this year.

Yes, I think you are right. Indeed McGuinne$$ talked about 45 dates. But he also stated that last year had 45 dates. So that proves he cannot count (what I don't believe ...$$) or he is not accurate.

Another possibility is that the 8 shows to make it to 45 will be in Australia?

ALL EUROPE SHOWS ANNOUNCED FOR 201009 February 2010
In case you're wondering, all of U2's 2010 European shows are now announced.

The tour will visit Russia, Turkey, Greece and Finland among others places, as per U2.com U2.com.
But Arthur Fogel , U2 Tour Promoter, has urged fans to be aware. 'Fans should always check U2.com first, it's the most reliable on any dates. Recent rumours, like Dublin and Tel Aviv, are unfounded.'

Shame, no Dublin.

U2.COM is now comfirming :No more europe dates for 2010.

*Sorry,Galeongirl was quicker for posting it*

But not for North America...if we read between the lines of that U2.com post????....maybe?

:hmm:

i suppose they might announce the dates for dublin later and cover up their mistake by saying they don't subscribe to that part of the world being actually europe.

Except they specifically said the Dublin and Tel Aviv rumours are unfounded, so it would be hard to back out of that type of definitive statement.

of course, since i was clearly joking...

I was actually agreeing with you, considering the reliability of u2.com.

I still wouldn't put it past them to announce the Dublin shows and then say, it wasn't decided until after they made the February announcment so the announcement was true at the time.
