Oakland, Edmonton and Toronto Presale/Gen. Sale Info

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
you can tell from stubhub, that the mt.davis seats were never sold (ie the 3rd deck behind the stage above the double row of suites)
interesting, I see what you mean

Maybe U2 figured those seats were just too damn high for behind the stage seats.

Yep; they don't even sell those seats for A's baseball games at the Coliseum - they just part tarp over that high upper section. They're only used for football games, and in the (highly unlikely  ) event that the A's make the playoffs, for A's playoff games.

Good on U2 for not selling them - the views would not be good.

How tall is the the claw? I think you'd be staring at the top of it from mt. davis. The seats up there are steep and make you feel like you're looking right down at the field below. You can see planes taking off and landing from Oakland and San Francisco airports from up there!

there still appears to be about 10,000 seats in the system, all expensive $250 seats a mile away from the stage, did all the NY and Boston shows completely sell out before the added a 2nd gig later...starting to feel as if demand is done, and most likely only be one gig

Looks like the Oakland show is pretty close to being sold out.

:giggle:

Good observation.

I also took a look at the behind the stage seats on stubhub.
The lowest row number was row 27.
So the behind the stage seats appear to be in the baseball set up.

With Mt. Davis seats not sold (but 3rd deck of the other sections were), what would be the capacity? 50,000 - 55,000?

How are you able to see how many seats are still in the system? Do you work for TM?

I'm sure this show will sell out (eventually).
June is still so far away.

There will be a lot of people traveling away from the Bay Area to other places for their summer vacation.
It's the first week school is out!
That might effect ticket sales as well.

yeah, I noticed that contradiction too

I'll stick with my original statement though. You can't even pull up a set of 4 together right now on ticketmaster for Oakland. That's gotta be a good sign.

U2.com now lists Oakland as "sold out". (Even though there are still multiples available in the 2nd Level for $250.)

^ Hehehe!

But if they consider it sold out, that's fine by me!
That might increase our chances for a 2nd show in Oakland.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, now you can't pull up multiples anywhere, not even the $250's.

And it is a bit weird, because if you put in 2 for any price and best available for section and location, you get the "Sorry, no exact matches were found, but other tickets may still be available." message, however when you put in 2 for $250, you can pull up a pair!

I think it's at least 99% sold out. There are sometimes payment/CC problems discovered later, so they have to release those tickets.

What is coming clear for Oakland is that the map on Ticketmaster was wrong. What is really going on here is the football seats will NOT BE OUT, and if you look at the first rows of the tix on stubhub in the "baseball bleachers" they all start at row 27 in secs 135,136,137,138 and 147,148,149,150...the seats at 140-145 start also around row 40 i believe. I see some posts for row 29 in those sections, but I dont think those tix exist and were just posted by a broker not knowing exactly what his promised broker tickets would be.

Whats this mean to everyone else, it means the stage will be set much, much further back than the pictures listed earlier since its not in football setup, it means it will be like toronto but the seats will even be further away as this stadium as not nearly as tight to the field as in toronto. It also explains why the could not sell the mt.davis seats as they would have been looking down through the top of the claw.

People who attend A's game, basically the stage will be out in mid centerfield or so, not at 2nd base like I thought it might have been under the map ticketmaster had.

here is what is looks like for non baseball folks not used to the coliseum, you can see how the outfield seats work

So is the stage still going to be in the middle of the filed on the 50 yard line? Wider GA than deep?

It's easier to understand the baseball config / football config discussion by checking out the right side of this page: http://www.coliseum.com/info/seatingmaps.php

For Raiders games, there are roll-out bleachers that accommodate extra fans. For the U2 show, those will not be used. The U2 stage will be located near the "top" (like 12:00 on a clockface) of the Oakland Athletics logo, on the baseball map.

This is how they did it for PopMart, too.

it will be at the fifty yard line, but if you look at the pictures i posted in this forum or antoher it will be like where the teams bench is at the fifty yard line. still centered the same, but much further back. They probably gain 40-50 yards in depth by not having the football seats out

at the molson amphitheater in toronto, they usually sell the crappiest Pizza Pizza-sponsored lawn tickets for $11.11, to match Pizza Pizza's phone number, 967-1111

i have a feeling they will release those mt. davis tickets 1 month in advance of the show and sell them for $10. i mean, why not?

Maybe, but they didn't sell those seats for either PopMart show, so my guess is that they'll do the same thing this time, and not sell them. The views from those seats would be pretty awful -- they're on a very steep pitch.

you should see the 500 level seats at Rogers Centre...i think they're at a 55 degree pitch
