U2.com has just updated their tour page with on-sale dates for Athens and Istanbul:

general sale starts Monday, November 2 at 10am.

pre-sale runs from Thursday October 29 to Saturday October 31
(or in the case of Athens, U2.com says November 31 :rolleyes: )

That's right. Jealous of the folks in Athens, the folks in Istanbul decided to extend their pre-sale to November 31 too. They also apparently decided to change the name of their city.
 
Yeah, it's just down the road from Atlanta, Germany. Sunday Bloody Sunday made its live debut there on 12 September 2009.
 
Wait, so does the presale end on October 31 or November 31(November doesn't even have a 31st day)?

The general sale date can't be November 2 if the presale ends at the end of November.
 
Actually guys, U2.com has got it right.

In a way.

The reason the turks call Istanbul for Istanbul and not Constantinople, was because this was what they heard when they asked the Greeks where they where going.

"IST AM BUL" or something like that is ancient Greek for "I'm going to the city". The Turks just thought that was the name of the city.
 
Anyone know if it will be possible to buy Athens or Istanbul tickets using American credit cards?

I'm a bit of a whore for Roman/Byzantine history. I would love to visit Istanbul someday!

Me too, I studied Latin for three years in college. You must go to Istanbul, it's really incredible (though Rome tops it easily for historical sites, but I guess you've been there already.)

Any Interferencers going to Istanbul?

Is Istanbul working for anyone? I'm not getting rejected, I'm getting a ticket order error.

It eventually worked for me after 90 minutes of stress and several phonecalls to both my bank and to biletix in Turkey.

Not sure if you are using a credit or debit card. For the failed transactions I was using a visa debit and they failed although its pending according to my bank (i've now put it into dispute). The transaction that went through was via my Dad's Mastercard and it worked first time.

I can breathe again now!!

My original transaction was declined (Lloyds TSB Visa debit card) for Athens.

For anyone who still intends buying for these shows, or Moscow i guess...
You need to contact your bank, inform them of the failed transaction, then you get put through to the fraud dept and they will clear your card for the transaction, I had the same problem booking Zagreb tickets earlier this year.

Alternatively you can pre-warn your bank that a 'potentially dodgy Eastern European website':lol: is about to take your money and they will clear it beforehand.

Should have came in here first and saw your request for an extra Istanbul ticket... I only purchased 3 GA's. Me, hubby and son. Twas minime who insisted on GA's... and he has grand plans of camping out overnight! I've created a monster!! He'll be 15 come Istanbul and has sat in GA lines since he was 10 like he'd been doing it all his life! Up until now i've only ever let him do GA in arenas... Turkish GA... hmmm! I've seen what those crazy Turks are like over their football!! Luckily hubby is 6'5 and minime is about 5'8 and growing at a ridiculous rate! They can both look after short ass 5'2 (on tiptoes) me!! LOL
 
I can't buy tickets in the Istanbul Pre-Sale!

Anyone else having trouble?

I'm in the Breathe group.

I can log in to my account but the page where you buy the tix just freezes...you can't select anything...my browser says error on page

My girlfriend tried on her browser too and has the same problem

I called them in Turkey and they say they have tech problems try again in 10 mins but I've called twice now and tried for the last 2 hours!!!

I think they're trying to fob me off too....

Paid 40 bucks to renew my membership and this is just a nightmare!!!:angry:
