Brendan Byrne arena, May 1987.

I've never seen a concert as amazing as that show, so I cannot begin to compare it to 360 or Vertigo. It was transcendant. I hoenstly had no idea how moving music could be until that show.

Great posting – did you attend the very last night in Rutherford or one of the nights before? I wish, I had seen U2 also back then ...

Ok Mikal you have seen 5 U2 Tours...well you have been born on 16.10.80 well on Love Town Tour your were 9 years old obviously to young and on ZooTV you were 12 obviously to young too, on Popmart you were 17 obsiously to young again too, at least on Elevation you were 20 but that means that this is now you 3rd tour.....Elevation, Vertigo and now 360....were are your other 2 Tours you have seen???????:hmm:

Or you wanna tell us that you as a little boy dumping still in trouseres walked to Rock Show on your own or did Mama or Papa took you by the hand....:lol::lol:

@mikal – your answers, please? And really: You are 28 years old and claim to have attended 5 tours (360-Vertigo-Elevation-Popmart-ZOO TV). Sorry, but there is a Bob Dylan tune, that says it all: "I don't believe you" ...

@nielsgov: Sorry when we might have discussed too hard in the past. I did not see, you are only 14 years old. Again, please accept my honest excuse, not joking ...

Again, you can not get away with such a nonsense answer. I am not nostalgic – and you simply do not want to/are not able to find more convincing arguments/facts than me. Isn't it?

I said most, not all, but that being said I've found quite a few of your posts since you started to post here to be of the nostalgic variety.

12 and 17 are too young for a U2 show? Since when?

You still miss the point: The simple fact is that U2 only recorded 2 masterpieces – one in 1987, one in 1991. This has nothing to do with nostalgia, but art.
By the way: My first impression, that NLOTH might be the third masterpiece was wrong. It did not stand the test of the past months (apart from some really great tracks as WAS or COL) ...

[I'm 30, which means that I've seen 6 tours and am old enough that most of you are fuckin' ignorant./QUOTE]

Oh you were 10 years old when you might went to LoveTownTour ....well i was 21 at that time......did your perants were with you and wich show did you saw....as a 10 year old boy....:lol::wink:

The tragic deaths of Michael Jackson and Patrick Swayze obviously have confused some of their fans deep in the heart and head ...:|

I forget if it was the last show, or 2nd to last....it was the night "Trip Through your Wires" was played twice.

It was the 2nd to last show on the 1st leg – wow:

Thats more relieable because you went 2005 to your first show, 10 years earlier times were a bit different and we talk here about 20 years ago when people wanna tell us they went on their own to a rock show....well a time when you were 1 year old....by the way

Could you two chill with the inane bickering, please?

People have different opinions, your opinion is not fact, and just because another guy's opinion doesn't mesh with yours doesn't make his opinion wrong, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum...

Also, if you're going to bring someone's age into play, it might help if you're at least attempting to act more maturely than they are.

When I went to my first U2 concert, as a 16 year old, in 1987, I went with four friends....and we went alone.

I was actually 9 when I saw my first show. It was in 1987 in Chicago and I went with my uncle who's a huge fan. He's also the reason I've been a fan since War came out.

You may have been 21 at the time, but from your posts thus far I'd wager that I was already smarter than you.

BTW - does it really piss you off that Bono brought that little boy on stage with him in Chicago? I bet there was some 21 year old thinking, "Fuck! Doesn't Bono know I'm older than he is?"

I am chilled. Peope have different opinions, yes. But when somebody claims x is better than y – and in dialogue with somebody, who has a contrary opinion, is not able to support this argument in any way or even does not want to go into detail with an answer of any profound kind – fine. But this forum is not only about writing an opinion, but also sharing and discussing it – isn't it? Very adult, I think, by the way. So I am still waiting for answers ...:D

Did you not read my post earlier? Has the memory gone too?

Try to summarize your point of view to 360, if you do not mind: I still smile about about imagining 5-year-old @Dalton appreciating the message of WAR:wink:
