Are we allowed to take bags/purses into the show? I can't remember reading if there is a policy on that?

I did that on purpose, for elfa

A likely story.

I don't know if this has been discussed already but I just read this on the Rogers Centre website:

"Those holding general admission floor tickets should enter via Gates 1 or 15 on the north side of the venue only."

Does this mean there will be two entrances for GA? Two lines? My tickets say "Enter gate 15." I'm kind of confused and nervous.

Two lines? :uhoh:
That may not end well - they better darn well let them in at the same time.

There was a diagram floating around of Rogers Centre, and it showed how many people are allowed in each section. If I remember correctly, I think the GA field was around 12,000-ish and another 2,000 - 2,500 in the pit. The picture was posted on here back around the time when the tour was announced, or when the tickets went on sale, or something. I'm pretty sure those numbers are close to what the diagram showed, and if I'm wrong, maybe someone can correct me, or find the picture?

I'm also fairly sure that there were around 400 people allowed into the ellipse on the Vertigo tour.

I think the reason people are still vying for early spots in the GA line despite so many spots available in the pit is because it seems that they're packing people into the pit like sardines in some venues this tour, so everyone wants to get good spots near the front, as opposed to being squished in the middle of the crowd.

No friggin' kidding about being packed in like sardines. I got into the pit for Croke II and after about 10 minutes bailed and went out to the main field area. It's one thing to be packed in once the show actually starts, but no way could I handle being packed in like that for 4+ hours before U2 even hit the stage....

Maybe one line for people who want to be in the inner circle/pit, and one for people who want to be in the main field area?

Unless venue security changes it on the day of the show, it's just the two gate numbers that were assigned to tickets. Easier flow of traffic and faster to have two gates entering GA than just one, I suppose. They probably didn't take into account people lining up when they assigned gates.

That sucks that it was so crowded you had to move. I've heard that some venues were better for this than others. Hopefully North American stadiums will be better about it too.

So no ticket lottery to get into the pit this tour? Just first come first serve?

Do we know when doors open?

Doors open at 5, and as far as we know, no lottery, unless they decide to throw a curveball into the proceedings in Chicago. I doubt it though. It'd be so much more unruly to try to scan 12,000+ people than 4,000-ish in arenas.

As long as the gates open at the same time and they assigned the same number of tickets to each gate it shouldn't be a problem.

Oh yeah, just wanted to mention in case anyone going to the Toronto shows is interested - I have an extra pair of Wilco tickets at Massey Hall, for Wednesday, October 14th that I need to sell for face plus fees, $120 for the pair. Liam Finn is the opener.

We bought these tickets, and then a few days later they announced a second show the next night, which is much more convenient for us, so we bought a pair for Thurs night, and now don't need the Wednesday night ones.

The ones I'm selling are right side floors, row F (so, 6th row), and they're actually a few rows closer than the ones I got for Thursday night. They're hard tickets.

If anyone is interested, PM me, and we can do the exchange while I'm in Toronto for the U2 shows. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow night, I'm going to offer them on the Wilco boards.

They were sold as "obstructed view" tickets. If anyone is familiar with Massey Hall, they have these posts in random spots on the floor. But, the posts are small, and basically, if you shift your body or tilt your head 6 inches, you can see just fine. If someone's interested but reluctant because of this, the Massey Hall website has very good pictures and diagrams I can provide that illustrate what I mean. But the bottom line is, I knew about this when I bought them, and still didn't hesitate - they're excellent seats regardless.

Speaking of tickets, I just posted this in the appropriate section but after much consideration, I don't know if I can do GA two consecutive days so I'm thinking of swapping my Sept. 17th GA for a seat (and willing to pay the difference).

I'm too old to line up all day, for two days...

I'm gonna make a sign for TO-2 Thursday, something about Interference but I don't know what. Honk if you're from Interference? I dunno. I'm still planning to stop at the duty-free on my way across at Niagara Falls.

why are you guys fretting now

i told you there were 2 gates for GA, and that the gates are 20 feet apart from each other and it will be hell lining up due to this way back in june

gate 15 is Edge's side, gate 1 is Adam's side

And so we have to line up according to the Gate number on our ticket? Interesting...

My tickets were lost and the Roger's Box Office said I could pick up replacements tickets the day of - I hope they give me the gate # over the phone before Wednesday so I know where to line up.

^ there should be a gate reference for you ticket already, i picked my tix up at a local sunrise records a week ago and they say enter gate 15

likely yours says enter gate 15 too

Gate 1 is actually on the other side of the hotel. 15 is one side, 1 is the other. We won't be able to see what's going on at the other gate. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, lol.

No Red Zone guys, I'm pretty sure. Don't they run for like 4 days? It'd be way too late to start one now.

But my tix were lost, I don't have them in hand - I have to collect them the day of the show. I'll call TM tomorrow to see if they can give me the gate #.

I want Bono's side
