looks like the youtube links are being removed as they are posted. its up on u2.com for members.

awesome video. they just took this 'simple pop song' (others words, not mine) and made it have a whole new meaning.

I wish people stop calling actual rock songs pop songs just because it's not depressing, it's not boring and it has as obvious soaring melody. Some of the best songs in the world are simple. Look at Everybody Hurt. Most people who listen to music are not musicians that's why they just listen to something that sounds good on the ear. They aren't interested in a music lesson.

Wow, great video! I can definitely see this one winning the short form music video-grammy next year.

Definitely interesting. I was expecting something like HMTMTMKM part II with animated U2 performing. This for some reason reminds me of Radiohead videos.

So the dog gets back to his owner, the boy gets back to his mum, the woman left the drunk - and the tramp on the train ?

I really liked that video. I thought of Wind Waker too when I first saw it, and Animal Crossing! :lmao:

Anyone find any easter eggs? I was trying to figure out if any of the numbers meant anything. Like the U2 2106 plate.

Crazy Tonight is a pop song, nothing wrong with that. Everybody Hurts is also a pop song. It just so happens that the former little ditty is as dull as dishwater, while the latter is quite beautiful.

Why do people hate the word 'pop' so much? Is it really such a dirty word?

OK, I just watched the clip and I can't believe the comments I'm reading here... what are you all excited about? God, GOYB video was a great one, Magnificent was ok, nothing spectacular, but pretty much enjoyable for the eye, artistic and creative with those flying sheets and all. And now we have this one. I'm sorry, but WTF? What the f*ck is this. Don't tell me it's the official version. It can't be. This one has to be the worst U2 video ever, it's f*cking even more embarrasing than US version of Stuck and ES combined together. I don't even know where to start. Aesthetically I hate the animation, the characters look ugly, with these big eyes like from some cheap anime movie. It looks like the director played too much Sims or some other video game for girls. Next, the story is so lame I can't describe it, U2 is trying to strike kid's market or what? Put some annoying disney music to this video instead of Crazy and you'll have a great clip for 3 years old, congratulations.

I'm almost always positive with U2, in most cases I can be called a blind sheep (I'm not even that annoyed with this Aung San Suu Kyi mask thing like some are here), but this probably is the first time I feel really, really embarrased with U2. Please let it not be the version which will air on TV or else I will have hard time with some of my friends that don't like U2, not that I care so much...

Bono and Stipe are rock singer. Anything played with guitars over an amplified instruments is rock. Pop is less about the human voice, more about hooks and the production, with the use of many effects. Rock music is about an energy, is more emotional, very raw. Pop is more about stamping your personality into the song rather than purveying true emotion. That sums up Bono's excentric performance on the song and Stipe's emotional performance. Pop singers have nondiscript voices that you wouldn't really notice . I call them plain Jane voices, just like Madonna, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, Celine Dion and Lady gaga. A distinctive voice will obstruct the song from getting hooked into your head, as heard by Barbra Striesand's unsuccesful forays into pop music.

is it me or what but i have logged into u2.com as i am a paid member buy can't see it anywhere?

My biggest compliment of the GOYB video:

That girl is really hot.

Even hotter in the better second video.

I want to meet her.

I've always found Everybody Hurts to be extremely overrated. REM have tons of better songs.

And I think Crazy Tonight is a GREAT song. Call it pop or rock or whatever, it's simply an uplifting, joyous little ditty

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think I just don't "get it".

Yes, three year old's have a deep understanding of spousal abuse.

Actually, my three year old watched it last night. Her only comment was, "Puppy!"

Love the video!! The animation is adorable and it's an interesting, different interpretation of the song. Definitely not what I expected, at all.

reading the youtube comments it looks like there's a number of new fans...

"Not a huge U2 fan but love this song and the video. "
"awesome video and story. I've just started being a fan of them but they're awesome. "
"this is the first song ive heard of this band and i have to say it was realy good and the vid was even better "
"this is like my first time listening to U2 and i think this is really good!!"
"im not a huge U2 fan but this video and this song are pretty damn good"
"whoa cool
i never even heard this band but i like u2 "
"i'm starting to like this band"
"Waw. Im not a U2 fan. But that was an awesome song and fit the video clip perfectly. "

Also, looking at the comments from the Blackberry ad, everyone wants to know what song it is. Could this be the hit single that U2 wanted from NLOTH, the single which brings in a whole new generation of U2 fans?
