I would KILL to hear more of what they did like that.

It's one of my favorites of the decade as well. I REALLY wish Orbit would have produced Bomb, would have made for so much more interesting of an album. I've said it many times before and I'll say it yet again, there's something about the sound they had going on between Ground Beneath Her Feet, Stateless, Levitate, and Electrical Storm that I absolutely love. Edge supposedly said they had a full album worth of tracks of that sort of vibe that they decided to release and went with ATYCLB instead. I would KILL to hear more of what they did like that. I've never thought of it, but I suppose that's what I really love about the title track from No Line, kinda has that weird spacey kinda vibe going as well. Kinda.

I absolutely agree. It's that sort of hybrid feel of their JT-era and mid-'90s sensibilities that I wish they kept developing. "No Line" is fucking spectacular. Have you heard the mix that combines both versions together? It carries the momentum of Version 2 while keeping in line with that (Kevin?) spacey vibe of the album cut.

I think I know what's behind the spoiler - it's a hazard of coming here at all, to see a thread with a song title as the thread title, it's pretty easy to figure why there's a thread about it.

I, for one, would make the following faces if I hear them play it on tour:

and then

:hyper:

and then

I absolutely love the song.

I won't click on any of your spoiler tags to confirm or deny my suspicions. ;)

And Lila, I also made a real-life version of the drooly smiley when I saw that picture. Pardon my PLEBA-ness, but hummina hummina hummina.

Also, this article was a good read:

Bono: the shades come off - Times Online

Although I swear to god, with these two bits:

"He takes me into the studio where he’s laying down his vocal and sings to me. Mesmerising. I’m sure this isn’t the first time he’s sung to seduce."

and

"He smells expensive and seductive, like a wooden cigar box."

She's about two steps away from writing some naughty fanfic where Bono ravishes her on the couch or something.

My one issue with Electrical Storm is that the falsetto chorus is really, really weak, especially with the really strong lead into it. But I like both versions, though I like the single version a little more than the Orbit mix. I'm not a big fan of the xylophone or glockenspiel or whatever.

Also, I have a feeling, based on that short clip, that it'll be an acoustic version with Larry playing that ... whatever it is.

Springsteen uses the glockenspiel a bit, too, doesn't he?

:hmm: :shifty:

Secretly, like nearly all of us, she wishes it had really happened.

 :combust:

All Because of You and Stand Up Comedy are both proof that U2 isn't good at being anybody other than U2.

In its defense, "Stand Up Comedy" is less shitty than "All Because of You," but not by much.

The inexplicable Fred Flintstone twinkle toes noise during "All Because of You" (or ABOY, for short) has always baffled me.

Stand Up Comedy really could have used a good solo. But for some reason, every solo Edge does on NLOTH is wildly underwhelming.

But I'm just up here thinking.

But Stand Up Comedy sounds like Led Zeppelin, how could u say solo iz nawt good?!!1//1

Edge's lack of solos is BULLSHIT.

Oh hi, future live shows.

Magnificent's lack of solo is particular disappointing since it feels like that one could have taken that song off to another level. Not to mention MOS and Stand Up Comedy both getting weak performances.

I just watched the part where Mark knocks Mike into the trash can with the football 28 times in a row. I laughed out loud every time. I think it's my new favorite part of that film.

What the hell kind of bullshit are you talking about, Philly? Please tell me now. thanx

It's like they get to a point in the studio and go, "Fuck it, we'll do it live." Then, they do. Thanks, guys.

Danny trying to have a pillow fight when Johnny and Lisa are about to engage in hot, mid-'90s R&B/Zoots-flavored loving is my favorite right now. That being said, picking a favorite part is like picking a favorite Jon & 8 Plus Divorce kid, they're all so gosh-darned cute.

It isn't on Netflix. I could upload it for you, if you'd like.

Is it even possible to rent? You know me, downloading would cause a moral dilemma which would crush my conscience and soul.
