I've had my guitar for exactly one year and I still don't have an amp :reject:

I was supposed to get this BlackHeart BH112 combo amp with tubes. It's a 3 watts and you can switch it to a 5 watts too  But I bought a new pair of hockey skates instead :reject: Shame on me!

mostly. the bass adds some notes to the main boots riff.

you dont have an amp? You're primairly a bassist right?
I've been playing guitar for almost 6 years and I've had this shit little portable amp. cant afford to get something bigger as of now, but it works all right. all depends on your budget and how many watts you want the amp to be.. .

:reject: Yup, I don't have a bass amp while I mostly play bass. I play on my guitar amp since I had that already and if I don't crank up the volume too loud it plays fine. It's a vox ad30vt so it can handle it nicely.
I just figured that now I do have money I should get a proper bass amp, I just have no clue what stuff to look at.

:hmm: What amps does Adam use? Roland?

*raises hand* sorry to interupt but
He's got Aguilar amps, in the magnificent making of video , and previously he had Ashburns as i recall (don't know if that was the right name)

The guitar and bass are the same on that song right? :hmm:

I should really get a bass amp, but I've no clue what to look for. Anyone got a hint?

Orange amps are great. I'm a guitar player but I once played bass at a gig and I used an orange amp. It sounded fantastic (Plus the sound engineer really pumped the bass up ) and they are beautiful looking but I think they're expensive too and I don't know if they make smaller and more affordable amps.

Ampeg amps are very good too, I don't know much about their prices though.

i've got a roland cube. its just some stupid portable amp. for someone whos been playing for around 5ish years...its pretty pathetic.

I don't even have an amp right now!... I just recently moved from Mexico city so I had to leave the amp behind...

Anyway, it was a Laney small/mid sized (50 watts) no big deal, but it was something at least. I just have a little practice marshall amp, one of those that you can hang in your belt.

I'll have to go back to Mexico city for my amp!

In all those empty busses and trains, the town is empty right now:hmm:

I'm waiting till I actually have some cash to buy what i want which is a vintage vox.

I think my amp has torn up,it was kind of a small one,a generic one at that so automatically it sucked :grumpy:. I need a new one and possibly a better one,any suggestions, and nothing extremely expensive either?

I would say that a good choice would be line 6, I think they have a good balance between price and quality.

But I guess it depends on what you consider to be extremely expensive, or on your budget.

I agree with Fernando, it depends on the budget.

A real Vox AC30 would be pretty damn awesome, but it's too expensive for me. I got the cheaper alternative, the AD30VT. It's got an option to sound like the AC30, and it's got a lot of effects built in.

I know this sounds lame, but what could you get for like $30-$50,I`m not playing anywhere yet so I sorta need a medium sized amp, cause I`m going to be playing at birthday parties and festivals, things like that.

Ok, I'm afraid I have no clue if there's even an amp for that price. :uhoh:

Perhaps it's easier to get an acoustic guitar for parties then and save for an amp?

I'm currently using a Peavey Minx 110 that my dad (who's primarily a bass player and had tons of bass amps) gave me. It might be in your price range and it'll get the job done for a practice amp and maybe small (very small) venues. But you should check out Line 6 if you can get them over there. Lots of features and pretty affordable.

Now, that I'm playing as much bass as guitar, I'm looking for a decent "real" bass amp, maybe a Fender Bassman 250 combo. Or I could just dream about Mesa/Boogies.

I think that for that price range you could only get practice amps, therefore nothing you could use to play at parties and so on.

I had a medium sized amp and it was ok when I jammed with my drummer friend, but when we played along with a bass and a singer, it wasn't enough.

This is the small practice amp that I have, and it's 50 bucks (your price range tops):

even a 100 amp isnt going to get you a good sound for parties and festivals are you in a band or something

My little bass practice amp was about $200 AUD, no idea what that would have been in $USD, seven years ago... I get the impression that they're expensive things, anyway.

My guitar amp was.. :hmm: I think I got it for 280 euros, about 381 dollars. Bass amps are usually more expensive because of the lower tones it needs to produce..

Well,I guess something around $500 will work,if not,I give up  Hell,I could buy a brand new guitar for that much...

A guitar isn't half as important as the amp. Even if you have the most expensive best guitar ever, it'll still shound shit on a bad amp.
