hey ax !

mmmmmmmm black books.
im still pissed that Dylan Moran was sold out for the comedy fest.

My sister saw him in Newcastle (the UK one, not AU) and apparently they were filming a DVD of it there, so I can't wait to see embarrassing reaction shots of her.

His shows always sell out really fast though, I wanted to see him at the Fringe a couple years ago and couldn't get the chance. Saw Ardal O'Hanlon instead, who was actually really awesome.

oh god i went to community consultation on a charter of human rights for australia today , here in geelong.

i doubt i have ever been in a room full of dumber fucking idiots. way to miss the point geelong, well done.

The ignorance was enough to make me want to cry . :|

the fluride lobby group turned up and dominated the forum fucking it up for all of us.
that was when those individuals who had been forcibly treated under the mental health act (for what appeared to be good reason) weren't ranting at the top of their lungs.

the rest of us were just in complete disbelief.

and then there were the anglo white macho males who wouldnt believe a word of anything either side said.

:doh::doh::doh:

mad me realise we have no chance of getting anything through .

The fact that this story already involves the hilarious typo of "limio" makes me want to hear it ever so badly.

Fuck!! I didn't even see that.

wellll....ok...this may take a bit to type out.

about..12 (holy fuck..how did 12 years go by so fast???) years ago my best friend got married and I was the maid-of-honour.

The night before we were in this hotel suite and we got into the mini bar. We drank the wine and played cards and just had a lot of fun. The next morning I had the headache from hell. We were on the way from the church to the reception when I started feeling queazy. (I can't spell naseous.) The limo driver decided to back into the stupid parking spot and I was trying very hard not to lose the contents of my stomach.

I lost that battle the second I walked into the front door of the reception hall.

Thank god they didn't get THAT on the video.

I was ok after that, but needless to say I was enormously embarassed.

That is the story of the most embarassing story of my life....so far.

Oh god.

I'd always wondered what types showed up at these events. Exactly as I feared. :|

signatory to it but it isnt enshrined in law . we can ignore it. and we do . :|

I just love how unwilling Australia is to even sign this stuff, let alone put it into law. The amount of treaties where we've had to have our arms twisted to sign ...

K Rudd is better than some of our predecessors.
they are keen to be seen to be doing something at the moment as australia is after a seat in the security council.

however it has taken till 2 weeks ago to sign the protocol on indigenous peoples and last year to sign the protocol on people with disabilities.

Canadian politics makes me really mad at times...but I'm still glad to live here.

I'm 98.5% sure that a Canadian was involved in writing the UDOHR.

an australian helped chair the commitee that wrote it too .

at least canada has a bill of human rights enshrined into their constitution .

Krudler seems to have something of the right idea in regards to indigenous issues, so why the hell does he allow the NT intervention to keep going?

because whatever they want from taking back the land leases must be very valuable.

However, an urgent submission was made to the UN on this and they have untill July to figure out what the hell to do and september to act on it.
