ok, so....

i have been to vegas dozens of times. here's my

some of the cheaper off strip places like the station hotels, ellis island and binion's aren't bad at all...even tho you think they would be. luxor is fine and cheap...but DO NOT GET DRUNK AND RIDE THE ELEVATOR TO YOUR ROOM IF YOU SUFFER MOTION SICKNESS!!!

i HATE the following....excaliber, circus circus, and stratosphere.

STAY AWAY FROM...sam's town, glitter gulch, wild wild west.

obviously all the rich expensive places like bellagio/paris/wynn/mgm/mandalay/pams etc are awesome.

good mid range priced near/on strip are flamingo, harrah's, and tropicana and rio. every room at rio is a suite so some of you could stay together.

be aware that there is also stiff competition in this economy, so if you look you can get a really good deal. that's what i was told by some at the palms last week, while trying to wedding plan!!

there's a couple of all suite hotels off strip that are new and cheap, the good one is grandview suites (pretty sure that's the name.)

This is SO true.

Las Vegas can be done inexpensively but you HAVE to know the area. Like I posted before, ANY hotel can say they are on the strip as long as they are located on Las Vegas Blvd. But keep in mind that Las Vegas Blvd stretches for miles and miles past what is commonly considered the actual strip (the hotels between Mandalay Bay and Wynn)

One of my biggest pet peeves is people who come here and try to do Las Vegas on the super-cheap and then go home and post what a shitty place this is.

roman, breathe for vegas, boots for phoenix. period. trust me.

last tour EVERYONE had phx tix and no one could sell them if they needed to. vegas is gonna be as hard to get as NY, LA, Boston or Chicago. hopefully it doesn't sell out ga's during horizon.

I'd use the Breathe code for Vegas -nsmaller venue, which means less GAs.

Nice, but it's a taxi drive away from everything tho. The monorail doesn't go that far south (yet). Vegas maps are deceiving and this part of the strip is quite a ways from MGM, NY NY, etc.

Especially when you just contacted your ex-boyfriend who lives in Vegas to tell him he might be seeing you and a friend on his doorstep late night Oct 22! HA! Hope the hubby doesn't mind!

Also, it helps to not really enjoy the taste of alcohol...I do love me some video poker though! Thank God for good self control!

I can't wait for this trip! Bf and I are flying into Palm Springs so we can check out some of the National Parks before making our way to Vegas then over to L.A. for the other show.

For anyone that booked a hotel online, are they asking for full payment or just a deposit at this point?

I usually use hotwire.com which requires full payment but don't want to chance ending up in an undesirable end of town this time so will use one of the other booking sites.
