After a few days of frustration when, after I hit the update profile and renew button, I got a blank screen, renewal finally worked today (got confirmation e-mails in a minute), still $32 for me (I think renewal deadline is tomorrow, actually).
 
Hi, just wondering if someone can someone help me out. I'm a paid subscriber but can only get access to the free forum and can't post or send pms so i haven't been able to post in the tech thread. My username over there is jog13. Thanks!
 
:) I know they are working super hard over there to try and fix all the glitches - the pressure must be on with tour announcment & therefore ticket sales / pre-sales imminent . . . buuuuutttt

I still get shunted to the 'you have not confirmed your email' screen . . . depsite doing all that I should to confirm it (and being told that it has been confirmed) and have received a 'Welcome to the new U2.com' email

Also still have no renew button anywhere on my screen . . . to those of you who can see it, where should I be looking . . . am having trouble figuring out exactly where to post over at U2.com so hoping someone here can point me in the right direction

I can post for you but they need your email address.
 
If I have access to all their videos and audio from their albums does that mean I am a subscriber?

If so, will I be getting gifts?

Due to technical difficulties, the extension has been extended (not a word people, not one word ) till March 6th, 2009

If you follow the instructions on the email you were sent (Mar/1-2/09) and you STILL cannot access the site (no, using the CONTACT US form and not hearing back does NOT count) or did not receive the email (by Monday afternoon) or the renewal link is not there, or you cannot confirm your email, etc please post in the:

FREE FORUM<GENERAL FORUM<STILL HAVING PROBLEMS THREAD.......

If you cannot post, then (and only then) send me a PM. *please pretty please with a cherry on top*

Can someone help me understand the new U2.com? I renewed my subscription for $32 back in December. I received the recent confirmation email which asks you to click on the link to verify your email address and current subscription. I did this, but saw no renewal option. Since I just renewed in December, are they expecting more money from me already for a new subscription? More importantly, am I still able to participate in the ticket pre-sale? Pre-sale was how I got tix for the last tour. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give on this.

Apart from the renew link, what does it say about the expiration date of your membership?
And take a look in the Tech Issues forum on Zootopia, I think there's a thread for persons who had renewed between December and when the new site went up.
 
I have a question that hopefully someone can answer. :)
I don't currently have a membership, but I'm thinking of buying one specifically for access to presales. Does anyone know if they will be using some sort of seniority system? Would it be worth it for me to buy a membership, or would I not have a shot at GAs anyway because I just joined? Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

Now, you are fine, you renewed in Dec 08, your sub runs out Dec 09

the renew thing you have showing is a glitch (I so hate glitches right now)

FOR THE RECORD, if ANYONE is having the following problems:

A) You or another member has no access to the paid site and it is a paid account.
B) The account has not access to ANY part of the site, so you created a free account to post until you are sorted out
C) You are trying to renew BECAUSE your account was extended, and you can't because the renewal link is either missing/not functioning.
D)You renewed and have not received a confirmation letter/receipt.
E) Your account has no access as it is not accepting your username.
F) Your email cannot be confirmed because the email that is showing is wrong or you did not get the confirm your email that U2.com should have automatically sent // the link from that email is not working
G) You can log in but account does not let you post on the forum (send me a PM, and ONLY send me a PM if you are in this case)
J) Other (please describe) please no webmail problems, only access problems​

or get someone to post for you. Please follow instructions and you will get sorted out

Also, expiration dates no longer show on the profile, when you are about to expire you will get a 30, 7 and 1 day notice both via email and when you log in.

You folks are awesome! I'm not set to expire until 2010 and I seem to have access to all areas of site. Fingers crossed that I can participate in pre-sale and get the new gift cd. I really need to get back to work. Thanks, everyone!

I've been wondering that too. I joined u2.com right after we were able to use the presale code, so never used it. It just sat there, useless, in my profile for months.

Once the tickets drop, do we use the presale code at *cringe* Ticketmaster, or LiveNation, or whatever it is now, website? :hmm:
 
:yippie: . . . I think I'm sorted at last :yes:, no pesky confirm email screen, can see the renew link in my profile . . .webmail still having a lie down, but don't think that matters too much right :shrug: . . . .now, if the band will just go ahead and announce tour dates in oz all will be right with the world

hope everyone else is getting on okay :)

If you want to join for the sake of joining the U2 Fan Club, join. If you want to join because you think that however the presale works, there's a chance it'll work in your favor and is worth $50, then join. If you have serious doubts because you don't know if it's worth it, don't join....and none of us know yet, either.
