I actually had every intention to find some tuf U2 pics to use as an avatar for quite some time, but I can't find any decent sites that sort them out into eras. And I refuse to ask PLEBA.

I have some.

I'm sure the tuf bono respect thread can help, given that the PLEBAns probably don't even look in it any more.

full band will be in the tuf bono respect thread. I could do some massive multi-quotage.

Could you pick me out a couple of your favorites? If they don't quite work out as avatars, I'll dig into the thread on my own time.

Cool. I want to appear as outwardly thrilled about the new material as I actually am. A non-U2 avatar doesn't really cut it.

Here's a few to start. Selected mostly for the Crowning Mullet Of Awesome.

Thanks for hooking me up, Reggo.

Sadly, now that the album is finally being released, I may have to replace my sig. It will always be relevant, but perhaps there is something else out there more relevanter.

LM, I'd very much miss your sig if you changed it.

Though I'm trying to think of a change for my own. I'm keeping this one for the Kunstmuseum anniversary on the 25th, but once March rolls around, I think I'd like something new. I just have no damn idea what.

Axver.

How's it going?

Yeah, not too bad, yourself?

I'm going to miss it too. It fits the album release cycle. I'll be sure to bring it back when necessary.

One thing I'm looking forward to is revisiting those "create the perfect setlist" threads with the new album on hand. I may do that tonight.

Thinking of hitting me up for another sig come then?

Not bad. My knees are sort of bothering me though which is an epic failure.
What do you think of the album?

Heh, I might. Though maybe I'll go without a picture for a little while. I don't know.

The album's wildly exceeded my expectations. All I dared hope for was a slight improvement on the last two albums, and instead the band have actually proved they've still got it. Definitely in the upper half of my U2 album rankings at this early stage.

I'm going to keep my trainwreck avatar for a little while longer since WTAHAN is still a basketcase. Plus it now has tuf bono, which seems a good enough reason to keep it for some time yet.

I've been thinking of setlisting some of these songs. I'll probably contribute if there's a custom setlist thread.

My album rankings have changed slightly since last night:

1. Zooropa
2. Joshua Tree
3. Pop
4. Boy
5. War
6. Achtung Baby
7. NLOTH
8. Passengers
9. HTDAAB
10. Rattle And Hum
11. Unforgettable Fire
12. ATYCLB
13. October

I've decided Boy > War and NLOTH > Passengers. But barely, on both counts.

At this stage, I think I would rank U2's albums thusly:

Very Fine U2 Listening
1. UF
2. JT
3. Passengers
4. Boy

Fine U2 Listening
5. October
6. NLOTH
7. Pop
8. War
9. Zooropa

Moments Of Fine U2 Listening
10. Achtung Baby
11. RAH

Not Fine U2 Listening
12. HTDAAB
13,000,000. ATYCLB

Yes, I just shifted Achtung above RAH. RAH has the better songs, but as an album ... well, it's not a bloody album, really, is it? It's just a mess.

I thought you preferred Zooropa to Pop? And I'm surprised War is so low.

I'm going to go ahead and make that custom setlist thread. I don't care if there are two others. I don't want interesting ideas getting buried under page after page of speculation.

I was used to not being able to have a pic, so I never really saw much point.

It definitely is better than I expected. I was a little bit worried that I wouldn't like it, especially after having such a negative reaction to Get On Your Boots.
