At the moment, I'm preferring NLOTH2. But...I think it's only because it was the first version I'd heard, and I loved it and played it repeatedly, so the album version seems so s...l...o...w. I keep waiting for it to speed up. I think NLOTH2 has the potential to pull in new fans.

Adam's bass is gone on the album version....:hmm: it is what makes NLOTH2 much better. Also the speed of course, album version seems to be for 3rd age people compared to NLOTH2

I like the more complex version of NLOTH. Its a got a dense sound that reminds me of AB. And then add the punch of Magnificent and MOS. WOW

NLOTH is a better album opening song than NLOTH 2. If the second version of NLOTH was on the album it would fit better somewhere in the middle of the album. I do like the NO! LINE! verse from NLOTH 2. Both versions are very good.

Is the (Aus/NZ/Jp) version of NLOTH what people are loving? Is anyone else finding that the production of the voice is way too loud over the rest of the song? Is this just the mp3 perhaps? I'm not an audiophile and I have never made a production complaint on U2 before (the HTDAAB stuff wasn't me), but in my good studio phones, the vocals really hurt my ears. Not like that with NLOTH2. It doesn't seem right at all...maybe I will try earbuds or my crappier Sennheiser headphones with more muffled bass. Am I missing something because I'm stunned at how horrible it sounds (and I love the song).

i find nloth album cut to be muddy sounding, after getting a taste of what a stripped down funky version will proabaly be the live presentation, the album version seems slow and overdone

That bass on V2 is so dirty and menacing, the album version really suffers without it.

And of course, I like Bono's more dangerous vocal on V2 as well.

Hopefully the live version will be a hybrid. They can't go that Enoesque on stage. And the "No! Line!" part really needs to come back.

NLOTH by a lil. It's good, just not one of my favs. it seeems to not really go anywhere for me. NLOTH is more complete, but 2 was a little faster which was better.

I like them both. I think they should put NLOTH2 at the end of the album after Cedars. If that's the bonus track on the UK version, I'm buying the import.

I did that with my burned CD, but it does feel weird after the very jarring abrupt ending of Cedars.

And I doubt it will be the bonus track if it's also the Get On Your Boots b-side, right?

For me NLOTH (album version)

Although I thought NLOTH 2 was going to be better, after listening to the album version I like it better. :D

NLOTH2 is so far superior to the album version it pains me to think they put the "interesting" version on the album....this album has enough interesting songs on it already....gone is a great tempo and Adam's lovely bass playing buried behind layers of slop...sounds like this is the "we took acid with Eno and got tripped out" version..oh well...love the music on this album don't exactly like the execution...(i.e. how the beach clips turned out)
