This might explain why Outback towns such as Birdsville aren't exactly overflowing with kids. Nobody wants to make babies when it's 45C ... in the shade.
you'd have a point, but there's a very hgih birthrate in subsaharan africa, and in india, etc.

i think those places are deserted cause everyone's too depressed to make babies and nobody wants to inflict it on their children

About the only people who live in places like Mount Isa are mining workers. The ratio of men to women is rather out of balance.

 i am just destroying my poor ex. basically explaining to him why i think he's deeply insecure. not to be mean, he needs to hear it, and he's taking it well, but poor guy.

i'm hungry, here are my choices, someobdy choose for me:

leftover chinese which is a very very spicy authentic seafood dish and if i eat it i'll have to follow it with something to cool my mouth off

the delicious split pea soup my mom and i (mostly her) made

the potato leak chowder that i love but i'm too lazy to grate cheese so that's probably out for tonight, lunch tomorrow

we were horny, it was our last chance, (it wasn't the only interesting place we had sex though) and also the appeal of sex on a train was kinda neat. people have sex in saunas, probably. i'm sure it was above 100 with high humidity and zero air circulation, but it was still good. but then, i'm clearly a sex addict.

Good exercise, no?

I'd go with the potato leak myself, but if that's out of the question, the soup. Or you could buy some milk and have the Chinese thing.

Yeah, I'd like to visit Alice, get a better understanding of how it got so large. Also because it seems to be a damn fine place to be, hot or not.

My grade 12 English and Geography teacher spent years teaching in the Alice. She had quite some stories to tell about the place ... the schooling was quite casual out there, almost a different educational culture entirely.

That's cool. Have you ever been there? Mum and dad went a couple years ago, said everyone was really nice.

Nope. The only Aussie states/territories I've been to are QLD, NSW, and VIC. Heh, and in the course of the last two days, I've been in all three of them.
