Obama's leading the popular vote (which should matter) but not the electoral vote. Yet.

whoa the popular vote count just skyrocketed. obama has a little over a million votes now and mccain has 800k.

I have to say, I'm seriously anxious that the reps have more voters registered. What's the usual turnout of registered voters anyway? Just having more able to vote for POW and Rogue makes me very scared.

I don't get why the electorate matters instead of the popular vote. The electoral college makes no goddamn sense anyway.
what i hate is the electoral college was founded at a time when the average american citizen was uneducated and illiterate. it made sense at the time to basically have educated people kind of guiding the whole state into what's best for them. but now? the average voter is a high school graduate, which also means they're literate and with tv, news, and the internet people are more educated on nominees now more than ever. we don't need the electoral college anymore, but it'd be hard to get rid of it since so many people probably view it as tradition, not really knowing what it is.

angela if you dont have a tv there are like 6 websites to check, actually millions, but i have 6 open, and i should probably open less cause it's a lot to keep track of

Hahahahaha.

I've had really nasty, uncomfortable clogged sinuses this morning and I've been feeling kind of dodgy, like I'm getting sick. But the peppermint chocolate seems to be helping things clear.

WIN.

and i think the 3 foot tall tv comandeerer has fallen asleep again.... will be back once i do a news channel fly-by...

(2 year olds with projectile vomit capabilities get pick of the tv shows, unfortunately)

Damn tea. Heated it up cause it went cold. Now it's still too hot ten minutes later. Damn microwave. Damn thermodynamics.

You answered for me, and your answer covers it so I won't add anything except to say that, while it's outdated, and it needs to change, and while people will resist this change, I don't believe it will survive past this or the next election.

Still, shame how some bumfuck half-illiterate hick who hates teh ghey is voting in Mississippi while well-educated and informed people such as Ian, Anna, and myself are just sitting here hoping that there isn't a clusterfuck and maybe the world will get back on track now.

yes, that would be a common sense idea :D my comp cable has stopped sparking so i think i can sit on here a while.

I wish I had pay TV so I could watch CNN or something. :(

Oh well, listening to Crowded House is good too.

poor ashley, now they're discussing indiana, predicting which was they'll go for the presidential vote.

I'm hoping we stay the way we always have :p.

Now that they've turned their back on me in regards to the governor though, I can't imagine they won't turn my back on me with the rest of it as well.

Hey is senate every 2 years, or six?
