I saw Miracle Drug in Pittsburgh during Vertigo. And Bono dragged out the intro for-ev-er by telling the ENTIRE audience that Edge is a time-traveling alien.
I keep the mp3 of it on my iPod for laughs.

Well it's believable!

Though I do think that ruined the song live. Same with Sunday Bloody Sunday on the vertigo tour. The speeching ruined the song. For MD to have the intro dragged out till forever probably killed the mood a lot. I love the song a lot, would love to hear it live once, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
