I just booked my room at Sienna Suites today! Now I just have to book my flight from Fresno to Vegas to LA back to Fresno. If anyone else is interested in splitting the room with me, I'd certainly be down with that!

Here are a couple of Romi's pics of the banner.

Speaking of time stopping...No, it isn't even close to being October yet. Not that I want to wish the summer away. Does the bus line run late at night in Vegas? Like after the concert late, if I wanted to get back to the strip that way? Like NY I think LV is one of those cities that never sleeps. We have a 6AM return flight the morning after the show, and the shuttle service I already booked says it will pick us up at our hotel 2-3 hours before our flight. I know we won't be sleeping that night!

Can't the hotel hold that for you? I've done it in the past - checked out at checkout time, but as my flight wasn't for a few hours, I paid to have them hold it somewhere, then came back and picked it up when I was ready to go to the airport. Maybe it's an issue if it's more than just an hour or two, I don't know. It's worth it to ask...

What luggage could they possibly need if just in and out on a quick overnight to Vegas? I'd think a simple backpack would do it.

Ooooh. I stopped judging other people's luggage choices. :tsk:

I've found it's only one step down from insulting their mother.

So, I switched to just insulting their mothers.

I've done this before too. The hotel's valet/bell hop people are the one's who have taken care of it. We have a Sat. night red eye flight coming home so we will need a place for our luggage for about 10 hours too. Better give the guy a good tip to look after it in Vegas I guess.

I don't know their sizes, but if they're short and in GA, they could use the luggage to stand upon and garner a much better view, while all the while pissing off and incurring the wrath of the hundreds of people behind them.

Just something to think on. :D

NICE!

The Samsonite gorilla ad just popped into my mind.

Thanks for all the tips, guys! If we have to check out at 11 and my hubby isn't going to the concert with me that night, then what? He's gonna hang in the casino til I get back. I will need a place to get dressed and shower etc before the show... that's the expensive night of our stay, too (Friday). We're actually gonna get into Vegas on Tuesday afternoon so spending 4 nights at the MGM. I thought about moving to Siena for the one night, but then what the heck will he do all evening?

I'm sure if you butter up a nice Interferencer staying at the Siennas (say with an offer to buy them dinner or the like), they might let you use their hotel shower and stow your stuff in their room until after the concert.

Just a suggestion.

Or, you may even find someone staying at the Siennas and offer to split the room with them for that last night. That seems even more fair.

OMG -- four nights in Vegas? Hmm -- I'm not here to judge your plans or your luggage, but four full nights in Vegas is a lot of fargin Las Vegas.

I've been there an average of once every other year for the better part of 25 years, and IMO 2 nights is plenty, 3 the max -- unless you plan to hit shows on a nightly basis, it can get very old.

Now, if cash is not an issue, and more power to you if that's true, then by all means - you go! The shopping, dining and gambling is a blast.

And, I highly recommend at least a few hours in Old School Vegas on Fremont Street.

Peace.

This is a cut and paste from a thread at @u2:

"OK folks, I got a supervisor with UNLV tickets on the phone this afternoon. She staunchly defended their policy of not mailing out tickets for this show any time soon. All she would guarantee is that all of us will have our tickets no later than a month before the show.

I told her that was a pretty wack policy, particularly with so many people traveling considerable distances for this show. It's difficult to want to put out the money for airline, car, hotel, etc. without having the actual physical tickets in your hand (or at least it is for me).

Here's what I was able to do, after arguing the merits of their policy with my fine Irish diplomacy: I got them to send me an additional email confirmation "guaranteeing" my tickets. I would recommend all of you do the same thing. Complain about the policy, then make them send you that additional email confirmation. If this is all they're going to offer, we need to make this as inconvenient as possible. Making them send out thousands of emails might get them to re-examine this policy.

If this policy irks you as much as it does me, call 1-866-388-3267, and immediately ask for a supervisor. You'll get nowhere with the agents, and probably not much further with the supervisor. But again, if we make the supervisor have to dispense hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of emails, they'll realize that their policy is out of line -- they've got our money, they've got all our fees, plus they're charging $12.50 to everybody for U.S. priority mail. They sit on all the cash for four or five months, then send the tix. Pretty weak.

I got Phoenix tix through the general sale, and they were in my mailbox today. If it's good enough for Ticketmaster (and yeah, they've certainly got their issues, too), it should be good enough for the small-time UNLVtickets.com.

why do we need additonal confirmation e-mails? And if we make it difficult for them to do their jobs, they will make more mistakes, and your tickets may never come because of that. They are not Ticketmaster, they are not a huge company.

I want my tickets now like everyone else, but I don't want to do anything that might make these people stressed out and make mistakes.
