I loved the demo of Heavy Rain, I'm so sad I never got a chance to play that. Someday.

JT, sounds like LA Noire is not for you, to be honest.

Was afraid of that. I'll just have to keep waiting for Battlefield 3

The gameplay's pretty varied. The clue finding scenes are pretty similar to the ones in Heavy Rain, albeit without magic sunglasses. The interrogation scenes are probably closer to what you described, but I think they're pretty fun once you get the hang of them, and they seem to be more consequential than similar scenes in HR. You've got GTA-style driving, shoot-outs (not as frequent as GTA/RDR, but still there, especially in side missions), and chase scenes, as well as other bits and pieces thrown in. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you might not hate it as much as you'd expect, but I don't expect by any means for you to rush out to buy it. Worth a rental, maybe?

You could, of course, watch a walkthrough on Youtube. That way you don't have to put up with any of the likely graphical glitches and lousy movement controls. But yeah, you should do something with it, because it's hilarious.

Yeah, JT, not sure what to tell you. While the general pacing might be similar to Heavy Rain, the game isn't just a huge quicktime event fest like that was. You legitimately are in control, and the game itself is about 2 kajillion flaflillion times better. That said, there's a ton of talking required for the investigating / interrogating, so that may bother you. Maybe try to find a video on youtube of an entire case or something to see if there's enough action to keep you interested.

Tomorrow the PSN Store is supposed to return, so if it's not for you, you can download some of those free games we'll all get for PSN being down, and play those instead.

I'm telling you, JT, just skip it. You won't like it.

Have you tried just calling their Customer Service to help get it reset? They should be able to help if the email needs to change.

I have. They put you on hold for a bit then tell you that the volume is too high right now, call back or e-mail. I've e-mailed.

Lame, that blows. Hopefully they'll get to you soon. The free stuff will be available for a full month to download, so I'm sure you'll get it worked out by then.

Yeah, as the dust settles, their Customer Service will be less burdened. I'm sure they're under siege right now.

How far along are you on LA Noire? I'm taking it pretty slow, just barely got to the homicide desk. It's nice how each case feels like an episode of a TV show or something, makes it really easy to stop after an hour or two.

Same as you....playing at a leisurely pace, enjoying it, trying to take in the city as I drive from place to place, etc....I just made the homicide desk.
