Actually, I probably would find room for Michael Nyman as well, really amazing composer.

And maybe a little love for B. Herrmann.

BUT THAT'S IT.

Maybe I'll post my 50 of all time... even if there will be bitching about my 4th place.

I'm upset with my inability to do a top ten film scores.

Hands down, my absolute favorite, no questions asked, I mean it's in my top ten albums period, is the soundtrack for The Land Before Time.

Must be why there is so much trepidation about the album. EYKIWers are afraid to lose their fancards on technicality.

The fact is that it is a praised film. People just get pissed that I rank it so high, especially being so recent and given its subject/story.

And oh, my guesses for the Oscars, Best Picture:

The Social Network
Inception
The King's Speech
127 Hours
True Grit
Toy Story 3
Hereafter
Black Swan
The Fighter
The Kids Are All Right

Still not a great fan of this 10 film thing.

Lynch, Lynch, Lynch:

1. Mulholland Drive
2. Eraserhead
3. Blue Velvet
4. The Elephant Man
5. Wild at Heart
6. Dune (Awesomely terrible, but I love it)
7. Inland Empire (Deserves a rewatch)

Oscar Prognostication:

Black Swan
The Fighter
Inception
The Kids Are All Right
The King's Speech
The Social Network
The Town
Toy Story 3
True Grit
Winter's Bone

When I last made a list of favorite films, I had The Life Aquatic and The Royal Tennenbaums very close together, and I believe I mentioned that I needed to see the former again to really decide which one I liked more. Now that I have done just that, I think I'd rank Anderson's films as:

The Royal Tennenbaums
The Life Aquatic
small gap:
Rushmore
The Fantastic Mr. Fox
biggish gap:
Bottle Rocket
Seriously, I probably should see it again but at the moment huge fucking gap:
The Darjeeling Limited

Fuck, wrong by one.
Hate to see Christopher Nolan not getting nominated, again.

After seeing all ten nominees:

1. Black Swan
2. The Social Network
3. True Grit
4. Inception
5. 127 Hours
6. Winter's Bone
7. The Fighter
8. Toy Story 3
9. The Kids Are All Right
10. The King's Speech

Five Movies I'd Rather Have Nominated Over 6-10:

1. Shutter Island
2. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
3. Exit Through the Gift Shop
4. The Ghost Writer
5. Greenberg
