Keep it on the Weather Channel for now. Hopefully there is no tsunami, but if there is, stay safe.

build an ark.

but seriously, stay alert to your local weather stations and national weather services. perhaps you could make a little drive with some of your more worthy possessions and stay at a hotel further inland for the night? good luck, deep, and to all of the west coast.

It's been cancelled, but stay alert, those plate margins can be real bastards when it comes to accomidating stress, they are so cold and brittle.

I was wondering the same thing, what do I do?
My roomate and I like close to the water, and don't have a car, and live in an apt building.
We're both used to Hurricanes and Tornados but I was at a complete loss as far as the Tsunami.

I mean, how often does a Tsunami warning happen?
Is there anything to do other than call a cab and get a hotel more inland?

I'm so glad it was canceled, I haven't been this scared is ages.

I would have been scared! Luckily it was a false alarm. But on the news this morning we heard about all the people who flocked to the beach to see what was happening. Hello? Do you not remember what happened to all those people in December?

Get to higher ground, even if you have to walk.

I had no idea there was a Tsunami Warning until after it was cancelled and I live in Santa Monica... little disconcerting. Luckily the earthquake occurred on a slip fault not a thrust fault.

Oh, and it just keeps on shaking here. A 4.9 this afternoon.... fun, real fun

I work in West LA and live across the street from the ocean down in Redondo. Good times right now out here. The earthquake earlier was the 3rd one we've enjoyed as of late.

Hopefully this is the last of it for a while.
